SPST will only open/close one circuit

DPST will open/close two circuits with the same throw direction, not to be confused with...

SPDT will open one circuit while closing another circuit in a single throw

Oh, of course. Single Throw! Knew I would be stupid! Thanks.

So what type of application would I want DPST for? -- Two sets of lights on one switch?

I *believe* yours is LHD...I do have an option for that lower dash switch plate to convert over to Carlings actually:

two sets of lights controlling two separate relays, for sure.

anything where you'd want to have two circuits open and closed both at the same time. i was thinking of wiring a flood option, like what pilots have, but it would flood (turn on) all the interior lights and all external work lights.

all kinds of cool stuff. and yet another reason to tear into our rovers...

I'm thinking I want the Contura XIV style -- do you know if the tight spot there might interfere with the switch in either off or on position?

Do you know offhand what the callout is for the XIV mounting hole? Or the outside dimensions of the switch itself? Essentially if it's the same as the Contura II or III it'll be fine.

I think the switch itself is the same. Don't know about the face.

Anyone know of a good alternative switch for the stupid looking rear wiper switch that is mounted on the NAS 110 type dash? I almost think a horizontal Contura switch with multiple positions would look good there.

You know that Carling has a Rear Wash/Wipe Switch (below)? It's essentially OFF-ON-MOM, which also happens to be my starter button .

^ That there is what I've decided to go with for style and color, but this web site doesn't seem to have what I want, or not in enough different versions. i.e., white with the right icons. I keep going there thinking I must be missing their full selection, but...

So I'm wondering a couple of things:
First, are there any other web sites out there that you have had success ordering from?
Second, have any of you bought blank rockers, then used the stickers? Seems like it could be good or bad.

Not quite sure what icons you need but call them up. They etch switches to your needs. On some bulb color can vary to

That may work, I'll email them with a list of the rockers I'm looking for.

OK, now the hard part... figuring out how to match to the switch type I need!

bumping an old thread...
Does anyone know if I can use a carling on-off switch for the rear defrost?
Or what would be the correct switch to use?

Thanks!
