Arb Limb Riser Tabs

Probably the smallest project in the small project category:

I'm thinking about having someone make a pair of steel tabs that you can weld onto the Arb bumper so that you can hook up your limb risers to these tabs. Any suggestions of how and where to make these are appreciated. I'm thinking water jet cut?

Seems excessive to waterjet. 3/16ths x 2in plate cut and rounded at the top and a drill would work.

ARB is powdercoated. Make sure you protect the welded area after the work is done or you'll end up chasing rust travelling under the powdercoating from the compromised area.

Excellent! Thanks Jonathan! I will use the ballistic fab guys.

My Arb is going to be removed and re-powder coated in a few years. Meanwhile I will rustproof that area.

Eric, I considered the antenna mounts but I am looking for a cleaner and more solid approach.

Thanks!

Probably overkill, but I can make you some clamp on ones for roughly $80. That way you won't kill the powdercoat.

I appreciate the offer Jonathan but my Arb is already abused. There were holes drilled for curt mfg hooks courtesy of the previous owner, rust included. The tow hook loops are also rusty and the powdercoat is old and tired so I'm going to touch things up for now and repowder coat it in a few years when I redo the body paint.

If their standard HD loops won't work I will get a quote for my 3D.

Thanks again for the tip!

That might work. The ARB tube is 1.9". I might be able to use the 2" they have... or I could get the 1.75" and grind it out.

I'm also waiting for the quote on the 3D I sent to them.

Scott.

This is for the top tube of the ARB bumper. Arb didn't come stock to my knowledge. This is for attaching your Limb Risers (Branch Deflectors). I will post pictures ones its welded on.

The link that Lane posted, it what I was referring too. They look just like the tied down rings that were on the trucks when they were shipped over.

On my SG brush guard, I used a small set of Pipe hangers with a small piece of rubber underneath them. They cost about $3.00.

IIRC I used some rubber lined strap on my disco when I did this. I still have all that crap in a box in the attic. Since I am brush guard free for a few years, I just let them sit.
