Nice project car. Enjoy it. It looks to me that is a newer type rear cross member do you know if that one is a replacement?

Truck looks awesome. I'm in the same boat when it comes to having limited time and money to work on it. Looks like a solid starting point though.

The auto center on lejeune was bad. I used to get really frustrated having to ask to do ANYTHING. It gets annoying when you can't even use the lift by yourself and you have to wait for a worker.

The auto skills center at Naval Base Great Lakes is decent but doesn't have a paint booth, and the machine shop is a bad joke. The lifts work well and they will mount any tire you roll in. Any updates on the middle bench fab and mounting? I'm kinda curious to see how that sorts out as I was thinking disco rear seat myself.

Getting ready for Uwharrie... Got the galvanized front diff guard and steering guard in place this evening. They are both good quality for the price (paddock).

So I finally got a test run bracket back from a buddy today -- this allowed me to do a more accurate mock up.

Unfortunately I am still battling with the tub modification, so I'm rolling around with some pretty high end cardboard filler in the mean time.

Also got the SS door bolt install complete... One more bit of 'bling' that makes the rest of my truck seem even more beat up/rusty.

And also mounted the hi-lift on the ARB for the time being. I plan on keeping it inside the truck while daily driving, but now I have an option on the front as well the rear.

Lift pump failure. I was glad I got it home -- it would not have been any fun to limp it around all weekend.

I sure hate I missed URE... Maybe this fall if I'm around.

Finished 'phase III' of the disco seat install.

This shows the tub modification. No where near as pretty as tyler Wirkens, but still functional. Although it pisses folks off, phase IV includes rhino lining over the tub mods which will hide the rampant rivet use.

This shows the brackets (4) bolted in. Phase IV includes grinding off the forward-protruding end of the bracket that isn't need any longer. Also need to powder coat the brackets. I have the original drawings and specs if anyone wants them.

All in all, I should have paid someone to do this while I was deployed. Royal pain in the ass. Someone else could have done the fabrication better for sure. However, I saved a ton of money! The seats cost less than 300, and I spent about 150 on other materials and tools. A buddy welded the brackets by my own design, which cost me a bottle of scotch. Less than 600 altogether for what I expect to be a great upgrade.

Once I get around to the cosmetic/ finishing touches I think it will look pretty professional.
