Soooo..... Shayne showed up on Friday and we have logged about 45 hrs in three days. This truck is short of amazing!!! One of the coolest trucks that I have been lucky enough to work on. So first thing we did for this crazy asshole who is of course Australian was to modify the ARB to support a husky winch... Full exocage around the cab and a separate one for the cube, along with mounting double tire carrier, and 48" led curved light bar. Anyway here are some pics, Shayne is just an asshole in disguise, he is the biggest teddy bear I have worked with... Overall just a great guy!!! First morning here he was here he about pee'd on himself when there where two fawns in my back yard, and then last night at about midnight on the way back to the shop for the third time he made me turn around to get a black snake off the road... He is a complete asshole! I cannot express that enough.... Oh and he is a cheap biotch as well...

Thanks for posting all that! I was looking forward to seeing how that truck would turn out, and in lieu of events, thought I'd never get to. Awesome cage. Your work is quite legendary. Never met him, but that shot of Shayne with the snake is exactly how I pictured him! Too funny. So OZ!

I can't wait for him to head back to Florida and ultimately Australia!!! Good riddance, all I have done for the past four days is pull my hair out... Even had to smack him, would you believe that I walked into the shop yesterday and he was naked humping Bill Larsons old defender which happens to be at the shop, with a gallon bucket of bondo up his ass... You can't leave this guy alone for a minute with out him making really bad decision.... I would advise all not to open the door to him.

I'll bet. Lol! Beer out my nose! Yeah, never a camera when you need one, except when picking up snakes on the road.

I stand corrected it is Barry's old defender... And no the fawns took one look and bolted, Shayne ran after them to give them a hug and they didn't want any part of if...

You've got borla, right? Then no worries. It's too big. That'd be like "throwin' a hotdog down a hallway!" ;-) And relax. Shayne always uses protection. Brewie said he's got a gallon of bondo and I hear it makes one heck of a prophylactic!

This is the smaller project section. A section that only Shayne qualifies for.

What's the point of attaching the cage to the front bumper?

Structural rigidity, full body panel protection, overkill coolness factor, etc...

It's an Aussie thing. I've seen lots of them over there. I've never asked anyone.
My guess is to better protect the vehicle from side impact from a roo.
Or higher up tree sliders.
