What would your dream build be?

Hi all...

New to the site and relatively new to the Defender world as well, though I've had my eye on them for some time. I've spent a lot of time over the last three weeks or so reading through the forum and searched the forum for "dream build" and "dream restoration". Found this thread, "How much is too much" to be enlightening and entertaining.

I'm looking to get into a Defender 110, five-door project myself, a vehicle I hope to use mostly for street use but the occasional off-road experience as well.

My question is this: if you had the raw vehicle and the budget, what would your dream build consist of? Keep all stock, or go hog-wild with updated suspension/drive-train? Somewhere in the middle?

Please be as specific as you care to be; some of the answers will likely help me formulate my strategy as I move ahead.

Thanks for your input, and thanks for the forum! Oh, and if isn't the right discussion area, please forgive -- nothing else quite seemed to fit.

One of many "dream builds" I could conjure up

A sleeper very close to what Adam described. I think it is John (phoenix37) that has pretty much what I will build if I hit 6 very lucky numbers this weekend. In the meantime I will continue to love my ExMoD 110 200tdi.

Thanks Raub but i can assure you that you wouldnt have to win the lottery to build my truck... you could probably sell your TDI motor and have enough to buy the GM drive train.

I want a new SD cage and an Exmoor top that I can roll up. Once I have those, plus a sleeping platform in the back, my truck will be perfect for me. Truly my dream truck.
