video on proper wire sizing, fuse protecion and grommets

I made a video on how to prevent wire fires by ensuring proper wire size, fuse protection and the use of grommets. Here is a link to it. Hope it will help someone. I always appreciate all the posts on the forums and want to do my part.

Seems obvious but the P/O of my truck didn't adhere to any common rules - I had a 10/12g wire direct to the battery unfused and passing through an non-grommeted hole in the body.

Within the first few weeks of me owning the truck, I went over a speed bump and had smoke coming out from under the seat (didn't help that there was insulation and rags in there that he used to keep the noise down). Have a permanent record of it as the wire basically fused itself to the top of the battery and left it's mark.

Luckily no other damage.

Since then I've rewired everything properly.

Just about everybody should watch this video.

Thanks.

Very well done. The Terrafirma folks need to listen to this. Their wiring harness doesn't adhere to these principles. Neither do many others. I can not fing any gauge wire heavier than 12 on my truck? Other than the winch wiring.
