Ive been driving the 200Tdi. Pretty impressed! Got some revs and fresh fuel in it and the smoke is mostly gone. Need to address issues like the wipers, rear seat belts. Then it needs a heater and ac.

Since the '88 is out of my hands, I've been making a little headway on the '83. Fixed the driver's side window, and ghetto-fabbed some door-card spacers until I get around to refurbishing all the doors. The wipers are now functional, but not 100%. Looks like I will have to replace the entire assembly, motor and all. Also need to find a new tail light lens.

But, I'm also on the first modification. New headlights. Hopefully I'll have some pics soon.

Turns out there were several issues. Bad ground, and the plugs were wired wrong. There are multiple splices that eventually need to be replaced.

Continued doing some little stuff on the '83. Found out that the top was missing about a dozen bolts that are supposed to keep it on. Luckily, while building my first buggy, I was convinced to purchase a bolt-bin. One of the best investments I've ever made. Nothing better than needing a bolt/washer/nut and only having to walk to the corner of the garage.

As a fat American , I found the front seat placement a bit cramped. Luckily, or maybe by design, there are another set of mounting holes for the seats that move them inboard about 1.5". You get a little more elbow room, but now the steering wheel is off-center. Not enough to really be annoying though. In doing so, I found another bad spot of rust in the floorboard.

Made some more progress on the '83. Got the temp gauge working, and more importantly, the clock. Also decided to tackle the rear shocks since I acquired a free set of Terra Firma's. Apparently, the old ones were original from Solihull.

The sleeve on one side decided to become one with the shock mount. Luckily the shock mount was easily removed.

These babies have had a rough life! Surprisingly, the bushings were in pretty decent shape.
