OK heres some more teaser pics..

I got the bulkhead beat mostly where it needs to be.

I got my SW top on, and i cut down some 10 spline fornt shafts to make mounts to hold the rear til my van sides arrive...

I got some 110 rear bench jump seats for the rear tub, they are a little long, but im gonna shorten them about 6 inches, and then ill have a full fold up bench on both sides...

I also picked up some

Rovertracks bling while partying at keiths house all weekend....

Rovertracks HD panhard
Rovertracks HD rear links
Rovertracks HD draglink

and some fox shocks for the rear...

Well as you can see i have tons of work to do this week , but im hoping to have it ready for the cage next week.....

Sweet!!!

You know guys while my friend is not staying "traditional" with his build, with the guidence (YOU CAN"T DO THAT!!!) from an experienced Defender o' phile he's doing a great job of mixing what he needs in a truck with the original design.... Really... Just like Buck....

I went over all the different custom cage scenarios with a ST or SW, and runnig a full cage, and a full EXO like bucks was the best way to have both...

well more updates, the front is now on its own weight sitting on coilovers... I looks like it need 44s and some mud boggers! haha ( JOKE)

I still need to get softer springs so I can drop the front 2.5 imches to get the ride height correct..

and I still need to hook up the crossmember for the 3 link and the panhard that why the axle is shifted way to the pass side...

Heres some teasers....

I feeling good about my welds too! no more tack tack tack....

Nice Build

Very interested in this build. You are doing a lot of stuff I have been thinking about. I am also wondering about the top. Are you going to put UK-style van sides on (no windows)? I have had a few 90s with that set up and it is no fun. You are BLIND.

Good luck and keep up the updates.

Yes I am gonna put on the van sides.. I have the glass and seals, Im just not sure if im gonna tackle it yet..

IN the winter Im gonna run the sides, and in the summer Im gonna fab some SW roof supports so I can run the top as an alluminum surry.....

as for the cage it will be a david buck wild racing style SD clone exo cage...

i think you could do better than that cage design. i remember seeing it recently and just don't think it complements the looks of the truck very well. i love the build so far as i've said on pirate, but get crazy and build a custom exo/inner cage similar to how they are stock, but with frame mounts!

Ive kicked around every idea and i think the best solution for running a hard top, and haviong a full cage is the SD style exo.... with my own touch

Follow-up Post:

More upates..

tonight i got my 3 link crossmember moved from the disco to the defender..

I got my Rovertracks HD Draglink ready to go on.. I started taking the disco brakes off my axle so I can put my defender stuff on, and I got my last two Stickies dismounted so I can install the last 2 Krawlers....

He is doing generation one. I think it looked quite nice. Pictures below. If your referring to generation two, then yes, I don't really think it looked all that nice either.

If your referring to generation three (last pic) then skrew you, your blind.

Buck,

I have always loved your D-90. You have really taken it a long ways. Keep up the good work and the innovation. I love to see extreme D-90's and you probably have the most extreme D-90 out there. You represent a very limited extreme rover community very well at events like King of the Hammers. Just wanted to say I like your D-90 and always have.
