My Very First Defender.

Hi
Completely new to this site and completely new to owning a defender. Had my defender 110 300 Tdi for about 2 years and sadly got to the point where the chassis needed replacing.
Probably should have noticed it was bad when I got it but we won't go into that. After having a near miss when towing a trailer and suddenly the trailer vanished under the back off the truck and yes the tow bar was still attached. Just not the the truck I decided it was time for a chassis change.
This is my first attempted at a defender so learning everything from scratch and without the help of my brother who is a welder fabricator it wouldn't have been possible.
Uploading pics via a ipad so hope it works.
Will try one or two pictures to make sure it works first.

I see some nasty checker plate covering up the bad stuff on the rear cross member!

How's things progressing?
