Following are some pics as of Tuesday. Bulkhead was removed, blasted, repaired, and primed. Seat mods are done. Here is the big question for the week. Do I just prime/lizard skin the interior and bulkhead (saving me the cost of painting inside) or do I prime, paint, lizard skin the interior, or do I just prime and paint the interior. I've heard good things about lizard skin as far as heat / noise reducing. I don't plan on wading any rivers anytime soon. Thoughts?? Thanks

So, I got to see the LR yesterday. I had the entire interior sprayed with lizard skin, including the wheel wells, hood, bulkhead, etc.. My paint guy really liked it and showed me the difference when you tapped on a body panel with and w/out the the lizard skin. Big difference in sound deadening.

Getting the grasmere green pain color was a total pita... For anyone out there looking to do this paint color, make sure you get a two stage paint with a pearl metallic finish. After 4 samples, we finally got it right. I even verified it on an actual 2016 Heritage that is local (long story). Now just waiting on my new doors that are in the middle of the Atlantic before everything is painted at once. I'll get some pictures up with the lizard skin within the next week or so.

I did 4 gallons. We have just enough to spray the roof. I bought there sprayer that they have also. I think I spent about $400 on everything.

Nice Stephen,

We almost finished our Grassmere Green 1986 LHD 110 project, see pics attached. The pearl paint is quite expensive. Just got the wheels painted as well, will install with GoodYear MTR tyres later this week. Still awaiting delivery of some OE Heritage badges.

This truck will be for sale later this year.

Best of luck !

Great looking truck. Excellent color choice...

We are going to big bend national park for the kids spring break in march. We are renting a 28 ft rv. I spoke to some people that have been out there and they rec 4x4 for some of the trails. Somehow I convinced my wife that it is absolutely necessary to trailer the lr out there. So , it looks like I need my 110 drivable by mid feb. this gives me several weeks to work out the kinks before we take it out there. Very excited. Either I get it done, or I start writing checks, I am committed... now if I can only get my new doors out of what appears to be customs purgatory, I can get this thing painted and back to me... somehow, staring at this ls engine sitting in my garage is not doing it for me anymore...

It took forever to get the new doors. Never again will I ship a crate of parts from the U.K. Next time, I'll go there on vacation, then bring them back with me. Paint is selected. Everything is prep'd and should hopefully be painted this week. Fingers crossed. What tires did you end up going with? I would like something that looks the part, but doesn't create a ton of road noise. I want the interior noise to be like a Lexus

Which doors did you end up getting? I've been eyeing those Puma doors from SP for awhile.

I ended up getting takeoff puma doors from a breaker in the U.K. The doors were great and completely assembled, but the process started in June and ended last week. Total pita. I would consider the sp puma shells if your hardware is good.

Goodyear Wrangler MTR, same as the original Heritage from the factory, featuring DuPont™ Kevlar® that helps resist punctures in the sidewall.
