hope to get the timing belt back on and back on the road for this weekends trip - fingers crossed!

turned on the lights for the first time last night

timing belt done - all gaskets in front and behind timing chest replaced
skid plate on
new alternator - might still need a larger one
dual batteries done
cb installed
radio working - might add some rear speakers
nav- for finding fish check
fuel filter replaced
removed all rear seat belts

things left

new seats - on the way
install headliner
new mid crossmember - on the way

Nice job in the battery box.
I always found that alternator to be weak at low RPMs (i.e. when you juiced the throttle slightly, the lights got a bit brighter). I never ran anything that drew many amps, so never thought to replace it as it always seemed to keep more current going into the battery than was going out during operation.

Out of curiosity, what was the condition of the timing belt when you removed it?
Had evidence that it was replaced not so long ago and was sort of wondering.

Here is a post with my new puma seats that I should have in my hands in a couple weeks along with the final metal pieces from yrm to complete my rust repairs

any one interested in my existing seats - 3 front - 3 middle and 2 benches in the rear

also went up to pismo beach this weekend and got really stuck pulling a trailer but weather was nice and saw a red 90 out camping in the dunes also

Its a small teardrop trailer a boat builder had made in San Diego that I got a few months ago - I'll get some photos up next time we get it out going up to Big Bear in a month

I can't get the wife to make that long of a drive without a/c we did Utah in the 90 years ago so that would be a tough sell at this point
