gear box supports? 300tdi

Fist a little introduction. I,m doing a chassis swap on a 300tdi def 110.

Originally the 110 came with a 2,5na. Diesel/lt77 gearbox.

This was changed over to 300tdi/r380 gearbox. I changed the engine mounts took the transfer case from the lt77, and bolted everything straight in.

Swapping the chassis now confronts me with the problem that the supports for the transfer case on the chassis don,t seem to fit. (marsland

Disco or Defender mounts?

Leon:
Have run into similar issues when removing an LT77 and 2.25 or 2.5 4 cylinder engine and replacing it with a Disco 300TDI & R380 into a 90 or 110.

I can take some pictures for you when it stops raining, but I keep all my transmission mounts in a box and just pull out the box and pick what works when doing an install, but think the disco mounts are different from the Defender on the R380.

Did you get the bolt on metal mounts with your R380 transmission?

The old LT230 T-case, is a 1.6 and will be geared too low for a 300TDI.

Hope this helps.

The LT230 mount looked different from the RR Classic and the Defender when I just crawled under 2 of them outside in the rain... it's OK because am about to quit for the day. I could be wrong as some of the mounts had the same positions, but look different.
BUT
The 300TDI mount on a 110 looked very different from the ZF automatic mount on the RR Classic. so you didn't answer if you got the R380 metal mount and if your setup came from a Defender 300TDI/R380 or a Disco 300TDI R380 as I think those rear mounts are different.

The LT230 came in many different ratios:1.6 is one of the lowest (used with 2.25 and 2.5 engines), then 1.4 with 200 - 300 TDI, then 1.22 used with V8 and TDI automatic setups. There were others, but these are just general rules for the gearing. You need a 1.4 LT230 or a 1.2 if you are in a flat area.

I have a dutch friend we can conference in if you want to make a 3-way call. I can bring him in at this end to eliminate translation issues...

Thanks for all your effort.

To correctly answer your questions as best as i can.

300tdi is from a disco

R380 was a reconditioned unit from a defender.

The transfer case stayed in its place.
The problem only occured when i frist looked at my new chassis. These mounts will never fit the old case

From your info i can conclude that i need to change the transfer case anyway. Will this solve the situation

I,ll sleep over it anyway. But thanx for the 3 way solution

Registry
380/lt230 mounts are different than the lt77 mounts. If you didn't change those when you made your first conversion that explains why things don't line up with the new frame.
