M16 x 1.0, I believe. You should be able to measure and verify.

The Defender 200TDI is 5/8" UNF.

Yes, M16x1.0.... Which does not exist. Most drill and tap the old sensor.

Adam,

The EGT probe I got for the auber instrument was 1/8 NPT thread, so I ordered a tap and drill off of Amazon for it. Already having the tap and drill on hand, I gutted the sender that was in the engine and made it into an adapter for the VDO sender 323-095 to go with the VDO temp gage 310-105.

M16x1.0 does not exist. Can't even see adapters anywhere.

Anyone ever drill and tap the flat "egr" spot on a disco 200tdi exhaust manifold. Thinking of putting my egt sensor there. Just not sure if it's too thick.

You get the best reading where all the pipes join, just above the flange. You should be able to drill and tap anywhere if it is 1/8" NPT.

You want your pyro as close to the mix of all cylinders as you can get and in front of the exhaust wheel.

I dunno about the 200 but the 6bts I used to tune ran cold on 1 and 2 due to intake differences. What you are reading there is #1 only.

I'd look at the area just ahead of the flange, if there is no divider within 1" or so, that's your spot.

Joe, thanks for heads up. The probe is pretty long, about at the seam. Figure an inch or two from the mix. I can always plug and retap if I seem to be cool for normal egts.

New timing kit and crank seal fitted and buttoned up. New intake/exhaust gasket. Wiring harness on. Down pipe seems to fit geat.

Moving on to power steering conversion and fitting radiator/intercooler panel. Have a reseal kit for lt230 but waiting on new cross drilled input gears along with R380.

Adam, did you sort out your PAS mount issue? If not here is a pic or two of my backyard workaround. The mount I believe is a common Disco mount that came with the res I bought off of Don B. The galvy strap is Home Depot.

Adam, again, impressed with how you have attacked this project. Calm and collected. I can't wait to see this puppy at WIntergreen.
