Damn, I thought they were out of business. I contacted them a few years ago to get a remote input shaft from them and didn't get a reply!

Starting to get things bolted back together... front fenders all powder coated and bolted back on. Rear tire carrier finished off too.

Time to start some of the smaller refurbishment jobs, first up the front 8274. Stripped, media blasted & painted, then treated to a Giggle Pin heavy duty main shaft & brake discs. Will be running a 6.5hp Xp motor on it for great pulling power.

Not bad for a $400 Craigslist find

I used 'Plasticote' etch primer, grey engine enamel and bumper guard gloss black. Found it holds up pretty good for rattle can paint.

Got the rear 8274 stripped & painted, this one was in a bit of a state and it needed the first idle gear stripping down as the needle bearings were rusted up (that's what you get when you buy $300 Craigslist finds). So, I'll replace the needle bearings with the GP uprated bush kit (Gigglepin 4x4 Top Housing Bush Kit For Warn 8274) and use that top housing on the front as it'll be getting the Xp motor.

Will also swap the brake assy's over too as the rear ones a later model with the longer stiffer/spring.

Been busy on house & garden works the past few months

However, did get chance to get the dash loom 99% complete... just waiting for last order of GXL & 2 way Delphi connectors to arrive to finish the passenger side front fender loom.

How many fuses....

Found a problem, the Lucas dim-dip module (PRC8123) I have is toast... new ones are stupid money so am going to convert it to use the later 'pink' type YWC10050. Will mean a bit of a rewire and an extra fuse holder installing but will keep things looking 'legal', looks like I can use the oil pressure switch feed from the old one to trigger the DRL's when the engines running.

Although I don't officially need DRL's as the truck is pre 1990, it saves unwanted attention from the powers that be, don't want to have to keep explaining why the dip beams aren't on....
