Placed engine in frame to set up engine mounts. Futzing with that ate up half a day. Bulkhead test fit looks ok. Fabricated mounts and welded them on. Nice having tractor loader to flip chassis around makes welding ez. Not too snotty welds this time.
Threw on some 545 primer and that was it for the weekend.
Oh yeah spent most of Saturday cleaning up bulkhead and t posts.

As it sits, yes, but the larger issue is the steering shaft. The Turbo must be relocated, as it is right in the way at present. I'm thinking that I will make up an intermediate piece to bend the turbo up out of the way. It has plenty of headroom, so this is probably the least painful way to solve the problem. 'Course if anyone has a line on a defender 200 tdi manifold set...

Just get 300 manifolds.they are readily available and cheaper. We did that on Cabell's 110 for that very reason

In yet another flash of brilliant outside the box thinking I believe that I can simply flip the turbo so it's up instead of down. Then I don't need anything. I think I have to "clock" the CHRA so that the drain is at the bottom. The exhaust will then be toward the front and the outlet at the rear. No biggie.

Took all the remaining galvy parts to the paint shop. They had started painting stuff...blue!
Got that straightened out as well as the skins and the galvanized stuff. Maybe another week or two I will have it to start putting back together.
Got the front axle assembled, tomorrow with luck I will have the rear done too and get the chassis rolling.

Finished the front axle less brakes. Incessant degreasing and wire wheelin. Ditto painting.
Dave Short drove over to get the 2A chassis just in time for the rain to drench us. He needs a bigger trailer:

Hook a tow strap to one end and the other to a tree and drive away.

the blue one your engine came out of I sold to Drew Swoboda. He's already welded up a 148 inch chassis. My sons green v8 110 with 60k miles is inside and is getting quite a bit of attention these days. Goal is to try to have it @ Conclave.

Cool when he gets to the window tracks you should see if you can get some of that lovely Yorkshire moss to grow in the VA countryside. Could be a new source of revenue for Dividing Creek Worldwide Industries™
