Adrian those mounts I got from Mark Garrenton. I have no idea where they came from but they have plenty of weld surface.
Thing is that now the engine install will be slightly more difficult in that there won't be room to drop the engine in v the bulkhead. I'll prolly have to unbolt the mounts from the engine, place the engine on the trans, then bolt the mounts on the block.

Shouldn't be that bad. Just jack up the front of the tranny until you get it mates with the engine then drop the whole thing down on the mounts. When I swapped a 2.5td for a 200 on my old 90 I remember being surprised how easy it was to get it all lined up and in. Maybe I just got lucky though

Bill may be too late for my suggestion or you may have looked into it and found it would not work on your project, the santana 12j to 300 tdi conversion I was working on, we kept the lt77.
the vehicle's owner located a 12-19j to 300 conversion kit which, included relocation plates for the engine mounts, exhaust, oil switch, bell housing drill pattern and spare studs and instructions.

it worked like a charm, clean straight bolt on kit. came out of the uk.

Carlos, I have no idea what you're talking about. That's a Ashcroft Stumpy R380, not LT77.
The mounts are in, engine ready to drop. Going to put it all back together and get on the road

Bill, I guess the silver lining to needing to pull the bulkhead is that the engine/tranny install just became a cakewalk!

Damn, that's pretty extreme! Where are you going for the galvy run? I have a few tiny pieces I need to get done.

Ouch. What happened to the wire harnesses you just built? The fire was on the RRC.

Bill, perfect time to deal with what you found on the BH. After all, the engine was out and the bonnet and wings not in the way. Hope this attempt goes better. Such a shame the previous did not hold up better. I know it's frustrating.

Fitting up vent thing to find where to poke the big hole

Literally like butt welding a beer can

Fitting plenum to BH

The hole!!!

Making the sides

And done-ish

So the vent thing will fit to the bulkhead and the heat/AC box goes on the outside of the BH with a huuuge Jabsco 4 inch blower mounted somewhere.
The vent box will get a couple coats of satin black and a pad made from Hardura mat. Controls mount ? Dunno quite yet.
