Revisiting post #1

From 9/2011, so two years on...
Here's the plan:
200tdi power (check, with 300 tdi manifold)
R380 gearbox (check)
LT230 TC (check)
RRC LWB galvanized chassis and axles from same (not. bought Ron's galv 109 coiler chassis)
Steel wheels with KM2s (check)
OME 2 inch springs and Bilstein shocks (check, but Bearmach springs came with chassis)
Wabco ABS brakes (skipped)

Badger Coachworks full interior (pending funding)
Exmoor Trim leather seats (ditto)
Full respray in Perfection polyurethane (eh, farmed it out to a local kid)
LED bulb conversion (dumb idea, killed it)

Galvy bulkhead, windscreen frame, t pieces, cappings, maybe wheels. Re dip the rack. (check)
Winch and Bumper TBD. (Lelo Fab)

Other changes include the addition of air conditioning, Tuffy box, Lucas off road lights, hydraulic Mile Marker winch, and heated seats and windscreen.

------ Follow up post added November 8th, 2013 11:38 AM ------

Exhaust should be shipping out today from Craddock's. They have been holding my shipment for two weeks for a plastic side cover for the front seat to come into stock. Sheesh.

Nice update. When will we be seeing this at HH?

Yes I have had the same thing with Craddocks. You just have to email them and tell them to remove anything that isn't ready to ship or you just won't hear from them and are left wondering. Fine unless you are in a reasonable hurry.

Spent my birthday wrenching! Yay me!
Worked on RRC as it had a funny vibration coming from up front. Yup. Trashed u joint. I hope the yoke can be saved. There were no bearings left in the cups and the yoke got pretty beat up.

Worked on the linkage for the throttle pedal. Got some stainless rod and ball ends. Threaded the ends and got the linkage hooked up. All very neat.

Day pretty much shot by the end of all that. Cleaned up some of my mess.

Happy Birthday!

I've got a front driveshaft if you can wait until HH. I'm pretty sure I'll need a shorter one for my build due to the BW/LT230 front pinion length difference.

Ya HH is next week, so I can deal with 2wd for a little while. U joints good on yours? I do have a spare with good yoke but have to buy new u joints. I'll prolly go and do the viscous coupling at the same time since one of the flange bolts is also rather messed up. I think the bad VC had something to do with the drive shaft fail. Maybe do the trans filter too as long as I'm under there.
rod linkage for the 200 tdi works a treat. I did buy a cable for the throttle, but I guess I won't be using it.

Managed to cram all my solenoids for lights and heated glass behind the switch panel. Just to right of steering is the panel I fabricated for the Auber EGT/boost gauge and just past that is the oil and water panel that is OE.

Small issues like the fuel gauge reading backward but I'll fix those later.

Cool truck

First time reading this thread. Truck is looking great. Was disappointed with your negative comments regarding the parts you received from me especially after I went the extra mile for you. Really saddens me. I would like the all the items you complained about returned. Happy to offer full credit on the parts. If you are unhappy with them, I would prefer not to have them ruin your truck.

Well Ike, you can't hit a home run every time you're up. The tank is a disappointment, as is the other thing. Everything else I've gotten from you has been fine.
I fixed it and moved on to other stuff.

You haven't fixed that tank, you just painted it. You haven't moved on either; you're still complaining a year later despite multiple offers to return it for full credit and sending you parts to convert your fuel sender at no charge. I even offered to fly out and put it in for you. (who even does that?) No other shop would go to the lengths I have to make you happy. I want the tank back or an apology. You don't get to keep the tank, tell everyone how awesome your truck is with that tank installed, AND drag my name through the mud. Don't be that guy that eats an entire meal then complains about how awful it was.

The "other thing" is a data plate. You ordered the wrong style for your car then had me stamp it, I offered to fully refund your money and let you keep the plate. How can you possibly be disappointed by that?

It's OK I fixed the sender problem on my own. The tank is what it is; not better, just painted. The data plate is also not to my liking. Told you that via email. If it was about the money I would have asked for a refund.
