I would think you could bring the 93 in as a show and display car.

extremely hard to get for vehicles where more than 500 were made or the model is still in production. IE would have to be very historically signifigant like have done a circumnavigation etc.

The Camel Trophy wasn't legit until they started getting serious in '98 by using Freelanders.

its an uphill argument. I'm just stating what DOT's "guidance" is on applying for a show and event import waiver. You are allowed 2500 miles per year max. If the production numbers exceeded 500 or if the model is still in production per DOT it "would have to be highly historically signifigant".

Again its an uphill argument and probably not one that would end favorably.

The other one I get a lot of emails about is "importing for off road use only". They will only consider this if the vehicle was "never meant for use on the highway by the manufacturer". Ie-also not going to happen.

Is there somebody on this forum who owns a Camel Trophy vehicle?
Or is there somebody here who already restored one?

It would be really helpful to talk to a person with this experience

I had one, and have a buddy who has one currently- feel free to pm me.
Pls do not restore- just drive and enjoy...
a great source is the CT owners club- you will need all your info and it will need to be confirmed, but worth the effort...

In Holland there is a Camel Trophy museum

www.camel-trophy.nl/museum/index.html

Maybe they can give you some advise.

Great looking 110. bought near my place too!
Why didn't I know there was one?

Good luck with it and enjoy it!
