I have been pulling my hair out (what little I have left) trying to get the glow plugs to work with the harness. First thing was the harness and I really wanted to keep the stock glowplug connector. I got the Mercedes relay to work with the Rover connector with some half ass connectors. The big problem was the glow plug light in the dash wasn't working correctly.

After a bunch of messing around I said eff it I will just wire the Mercedes GP light to the light itself. That didn't work either. WTF?

So after reading the electrical PDF file I had, I finally figured out that the glow plug light has power at ignition position II from the main white wire and the glow plug relay harness turns on and off the negative feed to it.

I had a positive feed from the Mercedes relay that turns on when the glow plug is engaged. I also found out that you can use a relay to "swap" polarity. Got the parts, did some re-wiring and it works.

As far as the Rover GP connector - I ended up just cutting it off and using covered spade connectors.

Relay harness I bought and attached some ends to it:

I know right!

I am a sucker for small details that are trick. Was like that when I was a kid racing BMX and would droll over items like Bullseye and Phil Wood hubs and Red Line pinch bolt cranks and chain wheels. So seeing these aluminum pieces right in front of my eyes will make me smile every time I drive the D.

Thanks Randy! I feel like I am rounding the last turn on this build - mostly body part work now.

Made a bracket for the sedimenter. I had some stainless sheet laying around so made it out of that so things didn't get corroded. Since the sedimenter is aluminum I used steel bolts and some washers to keep it off the stainless. I used existing holes in the chassis so I didn't have to drill.

Fuel hoses are getting organized. Using some M5 nutserts and plastics clips to hold them on. Clip one would have been much easier but I couldn't find ones that fit the rubber line I am using.

It does - but the sedimenter should grab a lot more containments and the electric fuel pump makes it easier to prime and is a level of redundancy. Robert Davis has a lot more insight on this setup.
