I once paid $3.95 for a $6 burger from Carl Jr's (Hardees).

Be lucky to get it in to the USA with a galvanised chassis. 1988 shouldn't have a 300 tdi, or alloy wheels...

Just my 2p worth.

Looks like both sellers of the same 110 had some bad reviews. Who is this "mountainminis" character with 18% of his transactions gone bad? Two zingers from just this year:

"absolute nightmare to work with! be aware of additional fees!"

"this seller is untrustworthy, stay away"

Ouch. That kind of feedback has to sting and be bad for future business. Caveat emptor.

Come on guy's, none of this should be a surprise. He's a typical sham artist who thinks by dropping big names with stories of big cash, that's he big time…

Only thing that's big time about this loser is his own impression of himself

I know I've already said this, but this guy has totally turned out to be the "Baghdad Bob" of the D-90 forum. Complete with delusional ramblings and no grasp on reality.

Haha, I actually bought my 110 from MountainMinis over an eBay ad he dropped the price on in the last couple of hours. I was satisfied by the purchase but I wasn't expecting much at all for the vehicle. I gave Uncle Douglas a call for his services right away which I am sure helped tons getting it here.

Guessing this is your feedback" "The 110 was as described and for the price the deal was plenty fair."

That is one vote of confidence.

ROTFL. Not a fan of Tom Cruse, but that is his best character and a hilarious movie to boot.

That would be David Ellison of Hull, Yorkshire. I have imported 6 or 8 trucks from him, only one was rated "as described" on arrival (Don's). He sent a 200tdi over last month that was seized @ Norfolk after telling the buyer it was a 2.5td which is what the vin decoded to. Basically knowingly sent a truck to be seized.

Looks like the Gypos have completely taken over, leaving very few trustworthy sources in the UK. I feel lucky considering mine was a private, off-market transaction. Seller couldn't have been a better dude. Lucky I guess.

Damn - that was a really shitty move on his part. I had a feeling I was making a "deal with the devil" so to say and was holding my breath thru the whole process.

And I am sure my purchase was different than others in that I had a plan of a rebuild and didn't need much to start with. If I had paid the price he originally had I wouldn't have been happy.

Also, being on this D90 board and seeing what a UK description actually means I translated the listing prior to buying. For instance "new bulkhead" means pulling absolutely haggard bulkhead with one in slightly less crappy condition. I am still pretty amazed it started up and drove onto the trailer when I picked it up.
