Its just the camera phone that makes it look orange. The actual color of the paint is dodge viper red I think, and it looks amazing in person. Once we get a little farther along I can get it cleaned up and take a picture or two with a real camera.

Ran into this truck today. Looks like it isn't altogether wrapped up as a project yet. What's the latest?

O.k. not to pounce on the thread but Nick Markiw here in San Diego is doing a complete kit for installation of small block Chevy variants into Defenders. Should include the custom driveshafts, crossmember and wiring harness for the late model Chevy motors and will use a BW t case. He wants to get the wiring harness to be a plug and play. Also, he met with Borla I believe to do the exhaust. What you will have to source is the motor (choose your own size), tranny and T-case. I saw his truck about a month ago as he was mocking it up with I believe a 5.7ltr. Not sure where he is at in the process today. Just thinking about it is makin me drool-

I absolutely love this truck. I wonder how many other guys have changed out the engine. I'm guessing not many. It would be a fun project to buy an older very well used 94 or 95 and do this.

AS for the Tires/RIMS...

glad you chose the ones without the Stars in the middle, the silver star takes too much attention away from the rest of the rim/tire...ive seen the rims with the stars in the middle on a 90 around me and all you really take away from looking at it is a big star...no respect for the rest of the quality of the rim..

Updates on this kit? How about contact info for this Nick Markiw fellow? I have an older 110 that is begging for a small block. This alleged kit should still work for a 110, minus the driveshafts.... right?

Hello people!

I'm new to this forum. Found the thread after doing a bit of searching on google.

Living in the UK and owning a Defender 90 for 5-6 years now I've had it with my Rover V8 lumps and decided to go down the LS route.

Thinking an LS3 is the best option at present and going to use an NV4500 5 speed.

I have a question!

What Atlas transfer case/box is this truck using?

Any help with the conversion would be greatly appreciated.

On another note - If anyone ever needs any parts from the UK sending abroad then just let me know! Would be happy to help.

Thanks in advance!

Bob
