It was a snatch strap , the owner of the d100 had . I missed most of the trip as I had to turn back with the disco . But he was a new guy with no experience . He did well for his first time being towed out of the woods . We got to the road and I thought my clutch was burning but he had been applying his E-brake most of the way as I told him not to let much slack in the strap ;/) .i kept telling Kathryn dang this Disco is heavy . We'll now I know he was not letting any slack in the strap lol .

Holy shit - that 4.6 sounds insane! Crazy how you got up that platform while towing a Disco with it's brake on. That section looks slippery as snot. Awesome rig.

The video works great for me. Very nice 110, especially like the new flares. A great recovery operation.

Don this a 4.2 with a crower cam , and the E=brake wasn't on in the river just to set that straight . It was after that the guy was riding the E brake to keep the slack down .
But i am rather pleased with the performance of the 4.2 motor. My 90 has a 4.6 and it really rocks along good.

Ah - I was going to write 4.2 from memory but then saw 4.6 on your signature. Got the Defenders mixed up. Regardless the 4.2 sounds bitchin'!

Good thing he had the E-brake off - the section looks really tough.

Dude.. I was getting ready to snatch you out backwards..your front wheels (which are conveniently not in the picture) were buried axle deep and your anemic mercedes engine couldn't pull u out..)

------ Follow up post added November 25th, 2014 11:45 PM ------

All joking aside.. I did snap a clutch plate centre down in the heart of mexico a and Ed and his lovely series truck towed us 30 odd miles till we got to a place where we could work on it... And as far as off-roading goes, I would rather have ed with me on the trails than ANYBODY else out there... That boy knows his shit when it comes to off-roading , he is one of the very few guys (alright, only guy) who I am humbled by, it's an experience wheeling with this guy.. Looking forward to doing Australia with him..

------ Follow up post added November 25th, 2014 11:46 PM ------

And dude... That was a cool "tat"...
