95 NAS SW refurb

Picked up another 90 to replace the ST . Plan is to go through it to get it road worthy again. . It's really rough around the edges but we like to fix these up. It will need motor work a rear crossmember and a ton of TLC . This will be a long term project and focus will be on daily drivable all year around . This truck will be Kathryn's and she will have the say on what it ends up being in the end. It's a number 482/500 has a sunroof cloth seats a winch bumper and brush guard. Looks to have an OME suspension as well .

Does it have a belt rail for a soft top?

Ok its been awhile since I've updated this thread , this has been a slow process but we have made good headway. We started under the hood to get that out of the way and we wanted to be able to drive it to make sure all drive train is in good order . The motor was a crusty mess and needed some serious attention to be at all presentable .
Replaced timing cover thanks to Shane from the rover shop , while we had the cover off we installed new timing chain and gears as well as new oil pump gears . The next step was to start the search for better components to clean and freshen up the engine bay . Here is some before and after pics to give you an idea of what went into it.

My stock alternator was a mess and I have several disco 1 alts around and decided to put one in this rig. Since I have done a few this way I thought I would show you guys a simple was to get a 100 amp alt. into the defender for not much cash , none if you have several laying around like I do. You will need to cut your bracket a bit to make it work so this is not for everyone.

this is the difference in space between the ears of the stock alt verses the Disco

You see here about 3/8 of and inch needs to be cut to make the new alt. fit . swap the pulleys over and you are good to go the extra ear that is on the Disco alt is no problem and can be left alone.

We started going through all the lights etc. and of course went with the KC LED headlights . Also installed a set of white wolf wheels for the time being so we can test drive her and the white wheels just look cool .
