True. It's likely only a 2 year stint.

On the bright side, I will likely attend the 2013 National Land Rover Rally!

Temporary interruption from the trailer build...

I told my wife to go trade in our '04 Lexus GX470 for a new car...and you can only imagine my surprise and excitement when she pulled in the driveway with this!

Truth me told, I have had a little time to ponder over "win". And now, I feel a bit victimized and resentment.

Indulge me a minute:

I mostly get to only look at the LR4 while my wife gets to drive it daily!

I find it ever more difficult to get out of the driveway every morning, as I stare in the rear view mirror of my BMW.

When I get home, I find myself in the cold driveway staring...drooling once more at the LR4 in envy as my dinner gets cold on the dinner table.

Finally, when I enter the house, my wife is smiling at me. A smile that all of a sudden I am uncomfortable with...One that I believe says "I Win!"

I can only conclude:

She must have done this to me purposely...

She is out to mentally abuse me...

Not sure I can trust her any longer...

Then again...this seems like the typical modern day American happy marriage!

She should of gotten the new full size range rover, its hundreds of pounds lighter than the LR4 which means better performance and gas mileage. LR4 is nice but outdated with its early 2004 design.

Sounds like someone needs to sell the Bimmer and get a Range Sport with LUX!

I look at it this way... you have converted her. End of the day you could be looking at another Lexus and as long as she is happy.. life is good!

Pretty sure the RR still doesn't have a 7 seat option...

Her last new car...late 90's, her only request was cup holders.

This time around. 3 car seats in the second row and a 3rd row seat that would stow away flat.

Axle is set up with new parts and ultra corrosion resistant hardware.

Frame is ready for axle installation.

Now just waiting on the proper inner oil seals to complete the hub installation.

You're moving to Minneapolis and have time for all this?

You need to post details of converting your M416 to Rover axle hubs. For some of us, its just a matter of time. Hoping you're keeping the trailer brake.

No offense taken. However, Neil should be careful, with the trajectory of his current relationship, it wont be long before he trades in one of his pantie dropping cars for a kid transporter. Scary Neil huh?...

Don't know why...but I seem to always do 10 things at the same time. I am just thankful that my wife puts up with it. But not sure it will last much longer with a 3rd on the way!!! See Neil?...this is why not the Range Rover!

As for axle...the M416 was in great shape when I purchased it, stored in a garage for most of its civilian life. So, I decided to have spacers built to convert the M416 axle to rover wheel specs (5 on 5.5 to 5 on 6.5). Lenny Stahl, from motorsport-tech.com, built the adapters for me for $200 shipped.
