He didn't notice, and I didn't say anything. I was hoping he would buy the car, and the seat would be whole again on his drive home. I could imagine him getting back in and the sticky chunk of vinyl falling right back into place. "Oh man, something about me in this caddy feels SO RIGHT!" I started laughing to myself like a crazy person and I think it spooked him, needless to say he didn't buy, and my mobile upholstery repair rode off into the sunset on the back of his pants.

Leather repairs rarely last if it is a high traffic area. I don't think they will screw up dying a load space carpet.

not sure if I've posted this before, yet, in case not:

http://www.leathercaredirect.com/index.php

as we are close to GB toying with the idea of sending the driver's seat over.

and they have a "kit" if you have a decent shop that you can "diy" so to speak.

If it dye would fix this carpet, then I'm there. But it won't.

Cleaned and painted transmission/transfer case mount brackets. Installed new brake cable. Cleaned and lubed CDL shifter, today I will test fit it and adjust the CDL light switch as needed. I also need to pull the three bolt flange off the rear differential...

Been messing around under the truck a little today. Check this out.

Before

After

Behind the crossmember

Behind the transfer case mount bracket

And these are spots that weren't undercoated at the dealer! NO I didn't paint it! (Yet) All I used was this:

All the hardware thus far went straight into the parts washer. I took it out, rinsed it, and aside from exhaust studs/nuts, there isn't a single piece that I can't reuse.

Took another cue from the Discovery II, and robbed the insulated brake cable sheath off an 04 parts truck. Fits perfectly. Then I rewrapped it with some tape from DEI.

Here you can see why you have to use the LT230 frame mount bracket, a little different than the Borg Warner on the left.

One of the studs on the heat shield that goes above the muffler broke, easy fix, I just welded another next to it.

I am pretty much to the point now of reinstalling the transmission. I need to pull the remnants of the old cooler lines off. Clean the AC drains. Got the difflock shifter all sorted out. Recovered the muffler heat shield. Gave up on the three bolt flange, it can wait till later. Removed a ton of unused air lines from the old air suspension. I have painted the inner frame since it's easily accessible with the transmission/transfer case out of the way, but I won't waste any more time on paint or undercoating until the truck is cleaned after Uwharrie.

Drilled two holes in the BW (now unused) mount to chassis bracket and bolted it to the ZF, then to the shitty autozone transmission jack adapter.

That will be better than just laying under the truck like I was planning on doing.

Ac drains. I just took off the ends and washed them with soapy water. Not much to it.

It's the original, recovered with DEI Heat Screen

http://www.designengineering.com/cat...hesive-backing

I threw a few rivets in it because I cleaned it before putting the Heat Screen on (it has adhesive backing) and it was still wet.

Got double sidetracked today. First I sold my rear differential, which makes the 3 bolt to 4 bolt flange conversion a bit simpler. Or more complicated... anyway.

Second, the original owner ordered the extra dealer installed undercoating. I can say this because there is a ton of the shit all over down there, which is good and bad. The good, it protected the vehicle really well. The bad, now it's dried up and not good for much else than being a dirty mess.

So I went at some of it with a wire wheel...

Only doing this on a limited area right now, due to time constraints. Also testing a new paint product, and I am very curious to see how it holds up.

hum, the underside of mine looks like that as well - the before pic.

will have to look closer now and see if it is undercoating as well.
