I agree with you. The old one was mangled and twisted beyond repair. The brush guard on this is welded to the bumper. It isn't even mine, it's actually on loan from dannyboyupstate. It was on my old defender, where the brush guard matches the defender front end better.

------ Follow up post added June 26th, 2014 08:45 PM ------

I got the motor rebuilt, just need to pick it up. The winch is clear coated and back together.... Except I'm missing one needle bearing. If napa doesn't have it in stock I'm just going to over night it from amazon.

Does anyone have any good ideas for winch mounts?

One I had was just a plate welded to the front bumper. Ike's is much nicer but I am not a fan of the raised sides. I know he can make a straight one. I would just get some square stock, round the ends, weld some tabs to mount it, weld on tabs like Ike's or just a thick plate, and cut holes for the fairlead.

Looking good, nice job on the winch.

Ike makes a fantastic bumper, he made this one for me.

Yea Ike's are awesome, I would love to buy one from him but I have a million other things to get done to the truck before I spend real money on one of his. He did hook me up with a deal I couldn't refuse on a rear lift gate.

Put the tailgate on and took the roof off.

I still need to button up a bunch of things for the winch/winch mount.
