A couple more from the Uwharrie Safari & after. Glad that Matt & could make it down for the day!

Oh, and I love my new F-150 tow rig (for those who don't know, I traded in my Jeep a couple of months ago)! I don't know why I waited so long to get a truck!

BTW, prior to the event, we installed a set of rock sliders and a galvanized rear fuel tank skid, along with a few other items. Still have some wiring issues with the lights on #646 that need sorting out.....

Decided to do an "old school" road trip in #646 up to Williamsburg, VA to meet up with the rest of my family for the 4th. My wife's parents were up there, but they are constantly on the move, as they are retired and now full-time RV. They will be heading west this week.

At any rate, I decided to take the back roads and catch the James River ferry. I took my tools (just in case) but the old girl did great! Just thought I'd share a couple of pics from the boat ride. The last pic is of my oldest daughter and my son on the return trip. Enjoy!

A friend took this picture of my son, Weston, and me today in #646, and I just felt compelled to share it! My boy loves, as he puts it, "Uncle Matt's Andober!".

Also, picked up some garage accessories in the way of a couple of free used rugs from a friend. I expect #646 will enjoy "marking her territory" on these.

Been chasing a high speed vibration for weeks. Replaced unjoints, bushings, shocks, balanced tires...etc. Just now I discovered something interesting...in 4th gear at 75mph(3250rpms) truck drives silky smooth but, in 5th gear at 75mph(2550rpms) truck vibrates like an SOB. Push it to 85mph in 5th, vibration goes away. Lower the RPMs in 5th, the worse the vibration when you try to accelerate. Anybody have any idea what's going on??

Are all your tires the same size?

Yes. New bfg at 265/75/16 I think the vibration's in every gear at low RPMs but, only when trying to accelerate. Once you get to higher RPMs in any gear the vibration goes away. Could be coming from the engine missing? Maybe I need a tune up or I have a bad injector.

Installed 646's first winch today. My truck project priorities are a little out of whack. Putting off pulling the fender so I can install a new clutch master cylinder. Donated rims and tires to the Camel. Have a set of silver steel bullet holes I can put on, just need tires. Looking pretty sad at the moment.

How did Safari Gard intend for this to work? Surely not with washers.

Maybe there is a decent shop in Raleigh that could machine a couple spacers ;-)

I've got spacers...12 of them!

I thought maybe there was a greaseable bolt/bushing or something.
