Update : Surrey top & Tonneau cover

Installed the surrey top and tonneau cover over the full cage. The tonneau required having the stitching at the rear corners cut in order to mount around the base of the C-pillar. I'll eventually get it over to an upholstery shop to have it properly stitched.

On a personal note, it is quite weird for me to see it this close to being finished. I've spent too much time looking at it as a pile of parts!

Update: Getting Close

Painted and reinstalled front bumper and door tops. Custom fabricated connectors for rear lights. Custom fabricated driver's seat box lid. Reinstalled windshield trim.

Not feeling very wordy today. So, enjoy the pics.

Still not quite done, but I happened to look back at the photos from where I started. She's come quite a long ways!

Update: Camouflage for the Wings

Found a set of Mammoth Wing Top Protectors in the Bargain Bin at Rovers North. Honestly not sure why they were returned, they seem perfectly fine to me. At any rate, they do a superb job of covering up the dents on the wing tops! They won't be coming off, so I secured them with rivets rather than the screws included with the kit.

My brother picked this neat little trinket up for his 90 during his recent travels to the dark continent. It's an authentic tire cover from Land Rover in South Africa.

And now that he's back in the States, we can start to tackle a few things left to do on the truck.

That's a cool find I've always wanted one from a dealership in England.

Update: New "Meats"

The Michelins that were on #646 had seen better days. All would lose air while sitting in the garage, and some faster than others.

So, Matt (in his words) finally "bit the bullet" today and ponied up for some new rubber. I had researched and found a good deal on a set 265/75 BFG AT's from Amazon.com. Our local Discount Tire agreed to price match the advertised Amazon.com price of a $189 a piece (with free shipping).

Luckily, he got his order in and installed just under the gun, because Amazon raised the price by $20 a piece late this morning!

They look good, don't they?
