2012 d110

All of our paperwork is done. Our VAT forms are processed, and we can actually pick up the Defender from Werner Haas Auto GmbH today! At least that is the plan. We are driving rental Opal there, just in case we fail the German "Papers! Let me see your papers for the auto!" It is a 1 1/2 hour drive from Stuttgart to Augsburg, and we will leave rental car there and train back to get it tomorrow.

Fortune has smiled Found a nice 2012 110 SW, Puma TD4, 22K miles on it, Certified by LR dealer so includes TUV (inspection for roadworthiness), roadside assistance, etc etc.

Keswick green with white roof, 6 speed, ABS and Traction Control, AC, heated seats and windscreen, 5 cloth seats, and something called a DPF (which I have now learned more than I wanted to about). And Boosts. Yeah. Would rather have white Wolf wheels, but you take what you can get. And no one in Europe cares about Boosts, at least not like this crowd.

Were going to go for the 25 y/o truck, but with emissions rules, we could have run into issues driving it in town. Plus there is the autobahn, and while we will not be breaking land speed records, we can drive along at 120K (75MPH), at least on flats or downhills.

Some other eye candy at the dealership, my 110 interior, and some shots from Augsburg, Germany, where dealer is located.

The sales force told us that the new ones are selling for over sticker, and climbing. Good news for all Defender owners.

Nakatanenga

Made it to Nak today. Great people, great shop. Was promised a tour of mfg facilities next time I come up. And they are moving towards US availability.

For now:
