Yeah, the center console around the high/low selector as shown by nomar. I appreciate the offer but my interior is the brown color and I'll just take my time on it.

Thanks

Update:
Blew top hose in Januray while at the Bay. Fortunately only 2 miles from home, so I was able to refill the radiator with some ditch water and get back to the house.
Doesn't appear that any major engine damage was done before I shut it down.
Made repairs with some boat exhaust hose so that I could drive back to Kensington. Had next door neighbor take me into town for more coolant. Thankful that Walmart was open on sunday!
Still running that boat hose. Sooner or later I will have to take the intake off and get the hose situation sorted out with all new.

Futzed about with a few items today. The threads on the water pump flange were stripped so that the fan was on cockeyed and not very secure. I took a file to it while the engine was running and "lathed" off the bad threads by tapering it. That let me thread the fan on properly, so now that and the radiator shroud are back in place after the above incident.

I also wanted to install these LED reverse lamps. That of course engendered much in the way of messing with tail light lenses, captive nuts and plain old dirt. Did get them in and in the process had to temporarily remove the stupid guard thingys.

Can't shift the transfer case. I think the problem is the detent. It's a on-my-back job that I'm waiting for better weather for.
In addition the other fair weather chores like refitting the interior are still waiting for the ambition of your humble author to invigorate.

Oh, man! That's looks killer! I really miss my manual transmission when driving the classic. My P38 feels normal as an auto, but the classic has that bit of je ne sais quoi that begs for a five speed like the 90! Very nice work! Factory, and then some. ;-)

Latest issue is an intermittent power loss on rear window lift circuit. I suspect a bad lift ECU cz when I wiggle it sometimes the windows work. I pulled it open and I don't see anything like burned or broken so it may be a sticky relay in there. I should swap it with a known good one and see if that's the bug.

It is always the same joint. Even if it does not look bad, resolder that joint.

That's odd, Bill. They worked great when we drove it up. Intermittent issues can be a pain, though.

What joint, Ron?
Damn, if my LWB rear windows started acting up....or else I just noticed it.
I never sit back there.

There is or was a picture on discoweb in the repairs or trail fix section or something. Not a post in a thread but the actual help section. It was always the same joint. I must have fixed a dozen of them.

here it is:

Thanks ron, that link is for a '95. I'll go look at mine again maybe there's a bad solder joint on it.

Looks like the problem is just plaiin old dirt. I took the board out of the plastic housng and plugged it in and it all works fine. Apparently there is some corrosion or what that is keeping the pins from making good contact. I'll clean more thoroughly at some point but for now it's all worky worky.

Dirt in that truck? Say it ain't so! Shoulda seen it when we picked it up. Dirt is the reason I ran out and bought contact cleaner when I couldn't get the seats to move. Glad it wasn't anything more.

You remember it was coated with a monomolecular layer of Texas red clay. It infused into everything.

Dude, you should have called me. I'd have happily helped. Did you recruit Sarah to help? I'll bet it really was transformative. However, I have fond memories of the bullfrog clips along the driver's side of the headliner! The rhythmic flopping of the fabric! I'm anxious to see how it turned out. Do you have all the interior back in now?

AC now works and blows ice cold. Bad selector switch was allowing both heater and aircon fans to blow at the same time.
Added two cans of R 134a.
