Well that is quite a drama.

Hope that is the last of the problems you face with becoming the owner of this rare vehicle.

Wow - crazy story. Big bummer you had to go through that just to confirm your ownership.

For a ton of reasons, I would make sure to document all this really well. You may want to put In a frame for future owners.

A small update!

So the weekend was pretty clear and warm, so I decided to take a small drive!(in the town I store the disco, they allow off-road only and farm vehicles on the road....which is good for me!)

Trying to figure out the wiring for the lights. They spliced into the original harness...so I'm gonna order new plugs...now I just got to figure out what each wire does. I figure 2 power and 2 grounds, per plug.

Also, "RoverBarn" had a set of fog hella 1000's that he sold me. *Bidding on some driving lamps in the UK. *Should have those soon, as well. Unless someone has some hella 1000 driving lights laying around...

Also, found the original makers for the camel trophy plaques, so I'll have those ordered soon.

That does NOT look like wiring that would come from Special Vehicles and survive a Camel Trophy event! Shame on the PO, or the PO's PO!

This is a great story, like the CT 110 story. I'm waiting for a youtube buildup series.

PS. I love your town. I'd own a damn PUMA if I lived there.

According to what I understand from the Camel Trophy owners club, that wiring harness was original with the waterproof plugs, but the smaller warn lights were shoddily spliced and wired up.... :/

Glad I'm good at wiring!

Looks like Norwood/Redvale. If that's where I think it is, this is one of my very favorite drives in the USA. I've driven this in a Defender many times. A fresh can of Copenhagen and a Dr. Pepper from the little grocery in Naturita and I'm happy as a clam.

You are correct. Norwood, well, the outskirts of Norwood.

Scavenged another photo, possibly more, from another source. *Here is a taste! *

Also, I ordered my driving lights and new front/rear camel trophy plaques from the UK.

Totally wrong thread. I posted from my IPhone and thought this was the Camel Trophy DECAL thread. Sorry for the hijack.
