Battery switch Indeed! All the way to the left, is off, and notched in pointing up turns everything on. There is another wire goes to the other battery, connected, that runs between the radiator and grill support area. The winch is gone, so is the set up for it. I'm on the hunt!

For what it's worth about two years ago maybe three or four I can't remember, I asked and they said they would make a run of them if there I think at least 10. Probably very expensive. I didn't ask price/number ordered.

That's good to know as a ref point. My bumper is not stock so I'll probably just fab it regardless.

Rubber on my parts truck is less than optimal, I think I'd destroy it trying to get it off for you (OP)

Sorry, it's been really busy up here. I'll try to get some pics up soon.

10/4 on the rubber.

So, I bought this new windshield, supposedly for a 95 disco, from a glass dealer in junction. I've been doing some measurements, but the height doesn't seem to match up. I know there is the finisher that goes around, but I've never taken a windshield off before, so I have no idea. It "seems" about 1 1/2 inches to short but have nothing to compare to. Almost like it's for my RRC. The width is perfect and the same as my range rover, and will work for the disco. Now it is possible for this truck to have been damaged around the window seal. It has plexi glass on there now, for rain protection. So my measurements could be off. But I don't want to remove until I have the glass ready to be replaced. Does anyone have a front windshield around that can be measured? The glass mainly? I would like to be able to see out the front.... Lol....

Also, I'm gonna try and straighten out the rear with a hydraulic jack and some wood. I'll try very modestly...

I have a windshield out I might be able to measure later today or tomorrow.

Thank you very much! I've been measuring from bottom to top on the passenger and driver side of the glass. If the window is out, do you happen to have a disco without a windshield? A measurement of where the windshield goes on the truck will help as well.

No do not have one with the window out now. Some time back I did. There are some yards in GJ that have derelict Disco's in them now. You may be able to stop by and get some measurements at some point.

Why not go around to local body shops and get quotes for a proper pull? I can't imagine it being more than a grand in labor. That would befit the car better than making it worse with a jack and wood.

Well, good I got a receipt. This is what I have learned!

The first generation of Discovery 1 vehicles (from 1989 up to and including 1993 mid 1994) used a rubber seal to hold the windscreen in place.

The second generation of Discovery 1 vehicles (from 1994 up to 1998) had the windscreen glued on the bodyshell with a cosmetic finisher applied around the frame.

The first type of windscreen is held in place with a rubber weatherstrip and strip sealing.
The second type of windscreen is held in place with glue and has four strips of mainly cosmetic rubber strip.

What you need is the first type of windscreen which most probably was never imported in the USA since the Discovery has started been sold in the US market from the second generation of Discovery 1 onwards.

Part numbers:
Windscreen for 200Tdi Discovery 1 = MWC7895 (this is what you need)
Windscreen for 300Tdi Discovery 1 = BTR9642 (this is what they gave you but I am afraid it won't fit)

Windscreen weatherstrip = MWC8304 (EXPENSIVE and rare)
Windscreen strip sealing = MXC8199

===================================

As for Alpine window.
Part numbers:
Alpine window Right Hand = MWC7336
Weatherstrip Right Hand = MXC7879
Strip sealing = MXC5581

Attention!!!! the weatherstrip and strip sealing are also specific to the 200Tdi. The ones from the 300Tdi will most probably not fit.
The glass is the same for both generations.

Hope this helps

Take care

Some parts are. Most parts aren't.

To be honest, the second gen windshield I have looks to be really close to the RRC I have. I wonder if I can find a windscreen from a truck in Canada or somewhere close. The shipping is gonna get me pretty har and no guarantee if it will arrive, unbroken.. Unless someone has a wrecked pre 94 disco with windshield....which is very unlikely...

Might be a slim chance that someone from one of the Canadian rover clubs either has or knows who does have the parts you are looking for. Might take longer but could try cross border RURR. Especially with the big event coming up in your neck of the woods.

Windshield.

Bet most folks have forgotten that the arrival of the 300tdi in the D1 also heralded the arrival of the soft dash D1 complete with airbags.
As a result of the airbag system there was a complete change in the windshield in 1994 its mounting etc.
