Lots of good ideas also.
Bring it by with pizza and beer. Pedals, center console, and headlights. Buy the Wipac backless headlight bucket kit. I'll have it done in 3 hours.

I get a kick out of the "almost as nice as an NAS" slant from some guys.

Your truck is top notch. And from what I see your build quality is also.

Please speak to rust prevention. Since you live in the NE, I assume this truck will see snow and ice. What steps are you going to take to counter the effects of sodium/calcium based frame killers?

Over here in Europe, Dinitrol seems to be more popular than Waxoyl now.

Finally got my headliner back from upholstery shop. This enabled me to get the inner hoop installed. Making good progress now. Some detail work coming up with cutting the headliner and side panels to work with the roll bar. Hopefully have that stuff all done this week.

Minor update. Got a lot of small things done. Headliner installed, side panels installed (looks so much more finished inside!), seat belts installed (converted to roll cage mounted), cage installed, got the subwoofer all wired up, installed aux fuse box in battery box for subwoofer, USB charger, and inline fuel pump. Just waiting on my new seat box cover to arrive then I can install the seats, center console and subwoofer and finally drive it again. I will be installing 4 rear jump seats this weekend to finish off the back half. Roll bar padding is supposedly arriving soon. If the seat box arrives by tomorrow ill be done this weekend.

Adam, that work looks great. I feel bad cause I still owe you some pics. I have been too lazy in the morning and it's been too dark when I get home.

The interior phase of the project is nearly complete. I just have to install my jump seats, which I will start tonight, and decide what I want to do with the jump seat belts (NAS style attached to cage or retractable mounted to seat base). Also the roll bar padding has yet to come, but hopefully soon. I can't wait to drive it again. It has been at least two months.

There are still some mods I wish to do to the truck such as metal Heritage rear badge, 3 VDO gauges where the rear wiper control is, and of course an LS3. LS3 might have to wait a while though...

Overall I am very happy with the how the truck turned out. My goal was to make it nicer using a blend of the nicest OEM or OEM like parts from various Defender trims while making some improvements here and there. I think it turned out very tasteful.

No regrets. I think you will learn to like the tail lights more then the "other" style. Having a truck you imported from Europe or Africa is cooler to everyone but other North American Defender owners.

Super nice truck. You need to be at ROTR8 so more of us can see it this weekend.

As an aside - did you get that bumper from RoversNorth?
I have been going back and forth with them wondering if it would fit the bumper on my 91 TDI - I have the exact same tire carrier and was wondering if it would clear it -
Thanks, Tim

Shoot - i was way behind on your thread - incredible work!
I should have read it all before posting - but I did drive from NC to Fl getting it at 4 AM -so thats my excuse!
