I've been in NY, working, and was talking to my Dad about this project. Long story short, we were able to pick up the steel to become the frame mounts along with the rear-cross-member.

1. Should anyone need NY parts and/or pieces: Please text me.
2. This project is going to take a serious term once I'm back in the south! T-minus hours.

I bumped the jacks holding the front of the truck... Luckily nothing broke or snapped. For the first time in a year, the truck doesn't have a nasty lean

Test fit the cross member tonight. I forgot about the frame when it was initially built but the adjustment was made quick with the angle grinder. I also discovered that the body mounts were not to be reused.

It still needs some tweaking but is coming together nicely. The worst is yet to come... Tailgate hinges.

My goal is to have the cross member finished and body resting on it by the end of the week.

Rear cross-member is mounted and load-bearing. I installed temporary corners and bolted them to good metal on the body in order to hold everything up.

Tires on the passenger side of the truck are off so that I can install a piece of box-steel to connect the inner-body-mounts. I can't use the sill because there wouldn't be enough support for the rest of the body.

Finally had a day to work on this some more. Wheel well and part of the floor are put in place. Most importantly is that the door open and closes fine and the tailgate still fitsClick image for larger version

I have a lower tailgate you can have if you can get from Maine to your place. Also aluminum cargo floor with ghetto FP access hole cut into it and if your front is rusted out too, I have that from head light to head light from a southwest RR.

Parts truck will be gone sometime this week so let me know asap.

Been a while since I updated this, but i'm still making progress. one step closer to getting it back on the road

Short List:
  • lower tailgate hinges
  • move old tailgate components over to the new
  • fix brakes - repair rear calipers, replace front rotors
  • seam seal everything
  • undercoat/paint everything
  • get the pass-front door back on
  • put seats back in
  • add oil to everything
  • new filters all around
