1987 Defender 90 ex-Mod (1 of 1)

Hello All,
As some of you know (some more than others) I am "progressing" thru a rebuild of my 1987 D90 ex-Mod. After a lengthy discovery process, looking for qualified shops in my WNY area, I selected a very capable and detailed shop (familiar with the tweaks of older British vehicles) in East Rochester, NY named Riter Restoration. Since dropping it off to them in May of this year, I am over the top excited to see the final product as we near "the end of the tunnel".... I wanted to keep the bones and mechanics of my ex-Mod intact and really just refresh the body and interior. The final product will include: a retrimmed interior, a full (welded) rollcage, epoxy primer inside and outside, Rhino Line on the interior, matte exterior paint in Grassmer Green...
I have included some current progression photos below.... with more to follow...

Progression as of 1/2017

We are moving my restoration along...we found some rust in the footwells...nothing major the resto shop just cut it out and we sourced some new panels and they look like they had been there from the beginning...We now have Grassmer Green color on this, but with a subtle little "twist".... Please let me know if you can pick it out???

I like the contrast with the rivets and hardware against the paint. Is the paint a matte finish?

Trevor....Very observant and you are correct. This is the heritage grassmer green with the metallic flake in it with a custom matte clear coat. I was very apprehensive with how this color would look on the truck, but I am over three top actually seeing the finished product.

Thanks for the thanks! Have you decided on a top color?

Trevor...I will probably be using (re-using) the soft-top that came with the vehicle when I purchased it in MA. I believe that it is an Exmoor top in Khaki. It's kind of "weathered" so we'll see.....More to come...Darrell
