Vendor Vehicle Sales?

Good evening all,

I have two Land Rover Series trucks I've imported from Spain for sale. I'd qualify ourselves as a Vendor or Dealer; "we" may only be 2 people, but it's still not a private party sale.

I've applied for permission to post under the Vendor section, but I don't see a lot of activity in that area. I'm hesitant to post the trucks under the classifieds for the aforementioned private party reasons.

A quick sanity check for the community: Are we looking in the right place to advertise these trucks? And if so, where's the best place here on the site? If the community isn't interested in this sort of thing, we don't want to rock the boat.

Thanks in advance!
Bill

I've noticed plenty of professionals posting Land Rovers for sale in the classifieds. It doesn't look like those in charge have a problem with it... and it seems like the logical place to post.

Thank you both. I'll go ahead and do just that, but preface with a disclaimer on who we are. Appreciate the replies and consideration!

By chance are you the dude I met at Cars & Coffee (trouble-shooting the "toggle" switch)? If so they are an 88 & 109, both Santana's actually, running 2.5 NA diesels.

I was in the red 130...pics below .

William, you don't need any permission or any vendor status - just follow the posting rules like everyone else and you'll be fine.

You are however required to bring at least one of those trucks to the nova happy hour every third thursday of the month (so this thursday) at Kilroys in Springfield.

Jason / All,

Yes! Same guy from Cars & Coffee. Patrick, with the red Range Rover, was who recommended this site to me. Glad to hear the group here is Ok with someone posting. I've told the "kill switch" story a few times now... it was a very humbling morning, and I can't thank you enough for sparing your time to help us think it through, especially in light of your son being in tow. Cheers, and thanks!

Ah! I'd love to, but I can't make this one. Regardless of what we do with these trucks (they may be down in Richmond by the next meeting), I'm glad to know you all get together nearby. I'll work my way down there at some point to learn from the Pros. If it warms up ever, I'll head down in one of my Datsuns - provided you guys don't use them as a speed bump

What kind of Datsuns? My first running/working car was a Datsun B210 SW. Tough little bugger.

A pair of 240z's - a relatively-stock '70 and a warmed-over '71. I'm thinking a 240z and a 109 would make for a pretty well-rounded garage!

Yours isn't the green 240 that shows up to Cars & Coffee frequently, is it?

I assume you're referring to the very clean, lighter-green 240z. That's Sean, a Canadian Air-Force officer. He's driven it down from Canada to the D.C. area, and has lovingly owned and maintained it since the early '90's. It's an impressive car, if not simply from a durability and upkeep standpoint. My '70 is a darker British Racing Green, and the paint leaves something to be desired (the budget went under the hood/ body)
