Using the Registry as a Used Car Lot
Looks like there's a loophole in the system.
We have a Trucks For Sale section for, well, selling trucks. We also have a Registry section for displaying information about trucks we own, and providing more background to other enthusiasts who may be interested.
When you post in the For Sale section, the post becomes part of D-90 history. The pictures and description and accompanying comments, good or bad survive for future search and reference use(in most cases) . IIRC, they cannot be deleted by the OP once additional posts are made.
Registry posts allow for deletion of trucks by the original poster. This function exists I presume because people sometimes sell their trucks, or buy a new one.
The loophole is that some used car dealers,(or vendors, or whatever we call semiprofessional people who flip trucks,) are using the Registry section as a For Sale section. This isn't playing by the rules. This gives them the ability to delete posts if they don't like the comments, and deprives the community of the reference information.
If enthusiasts who are selling trucks all play by the rules and use the For Sale section, certainly vendors should not have special privileges.
