There is a saying in the Porsche world and it's probably true of Defender and other vehicles ... the cheapest Porsche is the most expensive Porsche.

The restoration costs generally cost more than the cost of buying a nice clean model.

That being said if you are doing the work yourself over a period of time, or labor costs are much lower in Tirana then maybe that's a different situation.

I am planning to do most myself but also the car is not in need of major things, is more esthetics in this case.
Also the average mechanic here in Tirana will cost about 15-17$ hourly so, not much.

Ha ha ha! Put a metal trash can on your head while you roll yourself down a flight of stairs. Effect will be the same as buying this.

What engine does it have?

And agree if it's not rusty it should be able to get on the road again without too much headache.

I thought the 250 was a 4 cylinder. I know the 300 is a 5 cylinder.

I have been eyeing the G Wagon's for some time now, I can tell you that the Military G's are similar to the EXMOD land rovers in that there are a lot of them and they show up frequently on the market.

You can get a nice example for only a few dollars more,

That said they are simple to work on and have few systems, I am currently looking for a w463 to replace my 90 (when it sells)

OK, i just had a quick look at the car.
No corrosion under, doors and foot well are sound.
Car is a 461, not a 463 i checked the VIN number!
Is a short wheelbase model witha 5 cylinder non turbo engine,
And the last thing, i am looking at 6.000 $ price at this.
