Same here. Always thought this was because I use Safari as the browser.

Can you tell me what browser and Operating system you have?

Do you mean the search window?

I think I just figured this out. It closes every 5 seconds which is exactly the same timing as the "Newly Listed on eBay" add-in. I'll report this and have it fixed.

Some of the ads appear to be interfering. Don't really feel like looking further into it but if you just wait for the millions of ad networks on this site to load before opening the search box, you should be good.

Or, ya know, just run adblock.

Good catch! Yes, if I open the box, it closes when the eBay widget swaps to a new set of auctions.

Oh: Safari 8.0.7 on Mac OS X 10.10.4.

It would seem. Are you still seeing the eBay box? With Adblock on there's no glitching.

------ Follow up post added July 14th, 2015 09:28 PM ------

Does this happen on all the dropdown menus? Quick links, New Posts, etc? Or just search

this issue isn't the ads as far as I can tell, unless the eBay scroll/page flip somehow triggers the ads to re-load somewhere in the background.

Happens with eBay box opened or not. Affects every dropdown ("new posts", "search", "quick links", etc.).

[I am grandfathered so I do not see the ads, only the eBay box]

Winner winner - chicken dinner! Still looking for a fix however (short of disabling the e-bay widget)

Adblock is losing its effectiveness. Adkiller works better.

Agreed. I've liked it when it's worked, but it has appeared to have caused more issues than it has solved, and it has a bunch of glitches (like when only wheels and exhausts show up for a few weeks) that still need to be resolved.

It looks like disabling the eBay widget fixed the issue. You're welcome! Jeff I haven't rec'd any thanks from you yet, but that window should be fixed now as well.

Simplest solutions are usually the best! It looked like there was a click state bubbling up from the ebay widget affecting the click event binding on the drop downs from my brief debugging. That code is a total rat's nest though so I'm sure this saves someone a couple hours of pulling their hair out
