My suggestion would be to put it in the Non Technical Section as a main forum entry.

Thoughts?
Great idea!!..

Seriously we talked about it, but there is a general lack of interest in the proliferation of forums. So I don't think there will be one created right now, and you'll have to search for the term RURR if you are interested in a RURR.

So if I'm traveling somewhere and want to help transport parts I need to do a RURR search? Or if I want to see if others need parts transported on the same route I have to do RURR search? Seems pretty counterintuitive. One place to go to for all the RURR requests is a smart idea.

The results aren't as bad as you'd think though.

By that logic there should never be any new sub-forums because you can just search.

Default RURR rules by LRflip
#1. "RURR" stands for Rover Underground Rail Road.

#2. Pronounced "ARE.YOU.ARE.ARE."

#3. It doesn't mean free delivery.

#4. RURR is a privilege, not a right.

#5. If you have made connections in the Rover Community, and you know people who travel often, RURR is for you.

#6. If you piss people off, make low ball offers, or aren't an established/contributing member of the Rover Community...than RURR is not for you.

#7. Assistance with RURR is at the discretion of the seller, and those involved with the RURR.

#8. RURR is exclusively for the buyer to coordinate, and shall be coordinated with the convenience of the seller and RURR facilitators in mind.

Addendums to the rules can only be approved by the RURR committee and any abuser of the RURR system is subject to me calling you an asshole.

Regards,

LRflip

PM me for details on membership to the RURR committee

Can't believe Jonesy's idea went the way of the Dodo. Seems useful and relatively easy to manage...but then again I am not a Mod (but would certainly volunteer to support the cause) so maybe there is a lot more to it than meets the eye. If there is a general lack of interest in the proliferation of additional forums/discussions why don't we replace one of the less useful forums like one of the Non-technical Discussions? You could probably 86 the Cooking Corner or maybe Dumb games and we would all still survive. My point is that one of the greatest aspects of the Rover community is that we all come together to collaborate technically on the board which sometimes results in someone either physically going to help someone out in person, or a needed part getting pushed through the mail, or at best the RuRR implemented when it can be worked out. Seems like as a community we would want to foster that attitude through a mechanism to make RuRR a bigger and more structured part of the forum. Not bitching...trying to offer some useful perspective because I think there is great value in the capability. I would rather pay a Rover brother or Sister for a part getting a ride then paying a for-profit shipping entity. Pretty good way to network and meet member's of community as well. Isn't owning a Rover difficult enough?!?!?
