report function only for pm's ?

Many forums offer this functionality for forum posts. Why is this function reserved only for pm's here ?

You should be able to report posts. You don't see a white triangle with a red border and exclamation point inside at the top right of each post?

I read Doug's post as pertaining to the CSV report output functionality we get in PMs to retain messages before we delete them.

I see. Dunno. What's the use case? Posts shouldn't be going anywhere (for the very vast majority anyway).

If I understand it right, this was not an included feature with vB. You see the cvs option on PM because I think it now is native to the software (it was previously an add-in i installed) but the similar option for threads was a plug-in I had installed that most likely needs the newer version installed so you can do a "print" export of it into various formats. We can look into putting that back.

I was originally asking because of some completely inappropriate posts. Many forums have a report button on every post so things can be brought to a moderators attention before things escalate out of hand. Granted those are larger sites with a great deal more traffic- garagejournal.com for example. In the past this site had self moderated very well for the most part. A couple of very degenerate posts and no moderation and things have proven to get ugly quickly here- to the point where even regulars visited the site far less often in the past couple of months.
That was why I originally asked the question.

I do now-never noticed that. So that brings the post to a moderator attention ?
