Gus is correct, for full posting options, you will need to upgrade to the full version.
I also just got an email that I need to update the server side add-on so some problems you all are seeing may be part of the reason. I'll do that this weekend

Not sure what your problem may be... I just posted reply, reply with attachment, and created a new thread in the practice area ok. I'll post back after I upgrade the server side add-on bUt in the meantime make sure your devices are running the most current version.

I can attach, I just don't want to attach 3mb pix straight from the camera. I download pix to the ipad, and it conveniently resizes them them I fi choose to email pix, but not with forum runner. Am I missing something here?

Hmm.. the app should resize the photo before it uploads. Check the settings, open forum runner > go to the apps main page where it lisrs the forms you have subscribed and hit the settings icon. Scroll down to the Forum Posting Options and check the attachment quality option. I have mine set to medium usually.

Is there any way to post a pic, from an iPad, without using Forum Runner but rather just via regular web browser?

Do you not get the ability to browse for pictures on an ipad or something? It should work just like it does in a browser from your desktop - Go Advanced, Manage Attachments, Browse...

Negative, doesn't give you the directory/browse for files option on iPad. Talked to JP, and he said it can't be done as it...it also "grays out" the file upload option on D90 when I try to access the manage attachments page. Bummer.

Ugh. I guess it doesn't have a real filesystem then. You could try another browser like iCab Mobile I guess (or jailbreak it). Might as well get forum runner though

Charles is basically correct. Using the Safari web browser on the iphone or ipad the devices natively dont have a file structure that you can browser for pictures to attach in posts, and it doesnt seem to integrate with the photo albums so the only way is to use a 3rd party app like Forumrunner/Taptalk and then you can attach pictures.

Follow up: I havent tried the Opera browser option available in the iTunes store so that might be a work around.

You have to tap the post first - it'll then bring you to a read/write screen where you can copy/cut.
