Wanted to introduce myself. I have just joined and am in fact a Newbie to LR. I don't have one yet and haven't even driven one, but am set on getting one in the next year. Would love to have a Defender or Series 110, so I will be keeping my eyes open.

Love the forum so far. Seems way more helpful than some other places online.

Question: Is there a specific thread discussing the pros and cons of owning/driving a IIa, III, Defender, etc.?

Thanks in advance. I think I will be spending a lot of time going through these forums in the next week.

I doubt there is a single thread covering this but you can always start one if searching doesn't prove fruitful.

I would definitely try meet up with someone who owns either or both series and defenders and test drive them and chat with them about their experiences. I have both and they are very different in some respects (and very similar in others). But depending on your wants and needs the differences can be significant. I daily drive my series for the most part, but most would agree you have to be bat shit crazy to do so. When I drive my defender it feels like a cadillac in comparison.

Hello all, I am new on this forum so please bear with me a little.

I drive a Defender 90 with a TDI200 engine and I would like to fit an air conditioner to it.

Could someone please recommend a good supplier for a second hand one and what parts I require ?

Thanks a million.

Please use the search function. There are a couple of threads about installing AC using aftermarket parts with an all in price around $1000. Using the search will help you find some of the useful posts and not aggregate members who get many requests for information. If you out in some effort first people will be much more inclined to help you.

And welcome to the forum -- posting pictures of your truck is a good way to introduce yourself!

Heya Gents, just thought I'd tag along on this thread and introduce myself as well. I have an opportunity to pick up a 1985 Right-Hand Drive TDI 90 and I've found these niche forums are insanely helpful. So... why is it crazy to use your Defender as a daily driver?
