CEL: Intermittent Misfires

Hello all, 6 weeks ago i acquired an NAS 97 D90 White Hardtop.
Since then, I've had the CEL come on and off 3 times. My mechanic
(a reputable Los Angeles LR specialist) tells me it's an intermittent misfire. Yesterday's diagnosis tells us the engine is fine.
Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? Much appreciated.

Plug a code reader in and tell us the outcome.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.
