Wavian NATO Military Jerry Cans and Accessories

Hi All,
We are now a dealer for Wavian NATO Military Jerry Cans and Accessories. These are bad ass cans, very popular...pretty much the standard in Europe/NATO. I have been using these for years and you just cant kill them off

Specs: (for 20L/5G but other sizes are the exact same specs just smaller)

Brand new beautiful gas cans, directly from the Factory that has been manufacturing them for the various NATO militaries.

Here’s what you get: brand-new, original, jerry cans made to the highest specs, weighs 9.4lbs. They hold 5.28 gallons of liquids. Fully paint-coated inside and outside. Have a full, internal breather pipe for splash-proof pouring. The highest quality Jerry can sold in North America . Original Mil Spec.

There are some other very similar cans out there; similar but not the same. These are the good ones and well worth the small additional cost.

These cans are not yet CARB approved. As such, they are sold for novelty use or display only.

Spouts:

Brand new, from the factory. Nato nozzle. Flexible hard plastic end and metal body. Also comes with an attachment (to attach to a hose) as well as mounting hardware to attach the nozzle to the top of the can for storage.

Racks:

Brand new from the factory, 5 gallon jerry can holder. Solid metal construction. Great to mount to your truck, Jeep or atv to keep your fuel can secure. They are lockable with a padlock and have holes drilled so that they can be attached to a vehicle or wall. 10L or 20L

Right now we can ship starting this week. These are not cheap to ship...we really looked into this to get a better price; no luck.

The 20L will run about $25 East of Mississippi, $19 West of Mississippi.

The holders for the 20L cost about the same to ship.

We cant offer any discount on these, sorry but that is the deal we had to agree to. If you buy 4 cans of any size we will toss in a spout and an extra gasket.

Currently in Stock:

All sizes in Green, Yellow, Red. A few in Black. None in Blue

Both size holders in stock

All types of spouts in all colors in stock

20L any color $44.75

10L any color $41.50

5L any color $40.75

20L single can rack $48

10L single can rack $45

Spout any color $23

Please call or e mail us at the shop.

I wish the yellow ones had come available before I bought enough green cans to supply the Invasion of Normandy.

Since CARB approval was mentioned, I'm guessing they ship from California.

We will have plenty in stock for local folks but most will drop ship; cheaper for all of us.

Seems like a good price - ones on ebay are 5l - 4 for $199 with free shipping...so David beats that.

I'm confused... do they come with the little flexible hose end or the craptastic "push to open" ends that gus gas everywhere no matter what you do?

They don't come with any spout. Spout is extra. The spout is NATO spec that can also accept a hose.

No craptastic involved

I would say by appearance that these came from the same factory that was producing the ones for Briggs and Stratton and Canadian Tire Corp here in Canada.

We bought a whack of them from the UK a number of years ago.

At that time we were not able to buy the spouts.

With the ones sold through Canadian tire the spouts were available.

We have found the black plastic extensions to be a pain and we do not need them to fuel with.

We do not use plastic gerry cans on the property I manage as these steel ones are great and don't leak and swell like the plastic ones. We have had plenty of exposure to the Sceptre plastic fuel cans and really do not like them. The plastic and metal cans are not the same size and are not readily interchangeable like you might think.

Dollar for dollar the steel ones are far superior and i'm sure if you counted the usage you get versus what you pay you would realise what a deal these are long term.

I am in no way related to the seller nor paid as his champion marketer.

But I would be happy to hire you Thanks for the unpaid plug

Sceptor is nice but I find the plastic sealing ring inside the cap brakes over time

David, thank you for the kind words.

If I like a product and think it has merit I will say it quite loudly.

The number one problem with the Sceptre fuel or water cans is the size ie diameter of the cap and the mechanical advantage required to open them with your hand. Try opening a Sceptre can that was filled and then moved to an area with a 20 degree temperature difference. Not nice.

I would say that one has to be careful with bulk stored fuel and your housekeeping of fuel. We try to ensure we transfer using a strainer at some point, most often it is already in the filler neck. This is especially a consideration in the bush etc when we refuel equipment.

There are many tricks to using the steel cans, one is to have the can on a level (ish) surface and pull the can back so you open the can with the neck higher and "burp" the can to avoid a fuel burp.

Filling them too full is possible, you will get the hang of them quite quickly.

One of my co workers has no mechanical intuition or common sense at times and he has little sense of smell too add to the problems. After a cross fuel contamination event we looked at marking the cans as to which fuel was in them.

Now before you all jump in about coloured cans, slow down. All of ours are green. No we are not buying more in other assorted pretty colours. Green suits us well for work and for the vehicle collection.

The British Military uses a stamped steel label with embossed raised lettering that is painted the colour of the fuel type, red lettering for gas and yellow for diesel. These stamped labels have 3 tabs that bend over and fit the front of the can between the handles. They are re-useable and cheap.

I have tried to post a picture of something similar.

We don't worry about octane rating ass our bulk fuel is all premium.

I bought a pair of cans and mounts from Urban Land Cruisers. Very quick delivery and they appear to be exceptional quality.

Thanks,
Paul
