Turn-Key re-built engines.

GLR now offers a range or rebuilt 'Turn-key' engines. In the US I believe you call the Crate motors, I.E all you need is to fit the electrics, the rubbers hoses, and fuel lines, fill with oil and your off!

these engines are 200tdi, 300tdi and TD5 for both Defender and Discovery. We are located in the UK but ship worldwide.

The 200 & 300 tdi units come are fully rebuilt and come with the following new parts:-
Injector pump
lift pump
turbo
alternator
starter motor
timing assembly and belt
water pump
injectors
HD clutch (normally not fitted and loose in box in crate)

These engines come with a 1 year warrantee subject to the fact that new rubber hoses, new inter-cooler and new radiator are used at the time the engine is fitted to the car. Proof will be required on all claims.

Build time is approx 30 days. Price on application. Inquiries to Julian@globallandrovers.f9.co.uk or call 240 249 0507.

Trade discounts available for quantities in excess of 5 units per order.

200tdi and td5 units only available from the 2nd Jan 2014.

I am aware that 300tdi and td5 engines are not EPA complaint for the USA, but both these engines can go to Canada.

As far as I understand you can buy them, but not fit them until they are 21 yrs old.

Do you have a picture of an example of your rebuilt engines?
Are the blocks/heads/etc dipped or steam cleaned and repainted also with new freeze plugs?
Typically when we think crate engine it's something new or a rebuilt unit that basically looks new.
I imagine these would be potential questions you will get.

In the US i can import a 300TDi with out issues? Correct....

Yes. Put it on DHL airfreight and you'll have it in a couple of days with zero issues. Depending on where your truck is registered, you may have difficulties once it's installed if you have to deal with smog check, etc.

Julian, that motor looks nice. Who is doing the reman? Turner? in-house? Just a suggestion but if you're doing it in house, documenting and photographing the process can add a lot of value to the prospective purchaser. I know that Turner's website sold me on their motor when I bought mine.

Importing a 300tdi engine isn't an issue. But not every state likes to see diesels especially if they are dropped into vehicles where OBD2 compliance is a requirement.

Chris, the work is done by a local engine shop, I have been using them for a few years, doing our engines for our vehicle builds. As we no longer do vehicle builds for the USA, we have started to do just engines. I will get some more pics of the next build.

Shipping abroad is done on a standard shipping pallet. Shipping Quotes on request.

Lead time prior to dispatch is 30 days.
Engines come fully re-built and dressed with ancillaries. Parts NOT included are rubber air and water hoses, air filter housing, air filter. *(Unless stated).
Engines are tested prior to despatch, oil is then removed for shipping as per shipping regulations.
A further 10% discount will be applied for orders of more than 3 units per type. VAT is not included in the prices. All prices are valid until end of May 2014.
One year warrantee on all engines, subject to the condition that when the engine is fitted all new air and water pipes are fitted, new air filter is fitted, a new intercooler and a new radiator is used. Proof will be required on all claims. GLR reserves the right to change the terms and conditions on the warrantee without prior notice.

Julian; suggest you add cost of shipping examples so people can have some idea of that cost.
Eg shipping to LA, NYC, Miami, Houston.

Well we just shipped another to Haiti and that cost £600 excl taxes.
But I'll look into it.

Marine insurance is not included.

NY = £ 250.00
