Sorry for any inconvenience - temporary technical difficulties only...
Quick update, things with the website are still "down" (Galpin was a champ and up until 3:30am working on the server, but he needs to go back later today after the "day job" and continue finishing up/troubleshooting a few things).

Anyhow, in the meantime anyone that wants to order feel free to pm/email me and I can work up a manual PayPal invoice for multiple products OR there are direct-PayPal links in my 1st post on this thread (http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...78&postcount=1).

Thanks!

Just placed my order for a set of standard wing top vents. Those will fit an '86 won't they?

Hey Rob, check with one of the electrical gurus here before you waste money on the hazard switch. I don't think the Carling is a direct replacement. As I remember the turn signals are wired thru the stock hazard switch and is not easily bypassed.

It is a direct replacement....MUD has the diagram on their website, and I've done it on both my ROW and NAS.

Currently...no. Though - I am talking to Carling directly (they are in Connecticut) about carrying the hazard and possibly some other switches. Admittedly it may be a bit longer until that comes to fruition.

Absolutely they will fit! In fact, they'll fit any 1983-2015 Defender .

Order received, they will ship out tomorrow and you should have the tracking info once they go out.

Don't forget to purchase the 6.3mm Female Spade Terminal to connect to the Carlings if you are ordering from MudUK. Pretty darn cheap and saves you a trip to the store. Yes, I forgot....

Pretty much coming down the home stretch here (keeping in mind everything will be black powdercoat for the finished products). Some real quick photos...and YES I broke my hood latch today, and YES I am missing the bottom screws for mounting - like I said it was quick:

FRONT GRILL
(I've actually got a batch of cast "Land Rover" Solihull badges coming direct from England as well shown in the last photo, and that will be an option to add onto the grill for those that desire - AND for the round style grill badges I plan to introduce some badge mounting plates that will have octagonal studs and will slip right through the openings on the grill for mounting/attaching badges such as the Birmabright & Bloody Knuckles)

The above are all *pretty* much done, with a last round of test-fitting and final changes if need be...then it's straight to production (and should still be on schedule for next month).

The next round of aforementioned products are still in mockup/prototype mode (Dash Grab Handle, Bonnet Hinges, Headlight Surrounds, and a couple other things as well) - but should be done soon and right on the heels of the above products for release.

And actually I'm also going to be adding a "deep" Synthetic Winchline Fairlead into the mix as well. The majority of fairleads I've come across are about a maximum of 3/4" thick...going to be doing a deep version of this that is 1.5" thick, and so far it's coming along nicely.

If you can add in a bar to support RAM mounts to the mix that would be great - i'm thinking something like this but for a defender
http://www.vectoroffroad.com/jke-doc...idth-p-86.html

just a 1-11/4" bar that we can hang ram balls off of would be great for those of us whom do not want to cut the dash to install a MUDUK dash or the like. I need a good spot for a HAM radio, iPad, and some other stuff.

Pretty simple drop in direct replacement. Took 20 minutes last night and worked great. A pretty nice look with the finished product. Ran a replacement 12v lighter port, a dual usb where the hazard used to be, and a few needed carlings in the ports i had left.

Thanks again Jason! Any idea what the powdercoated replacement grill + badge will run? Looks great. Finally won't be checking this board every day for a heritage

Glad it worked out for you! It's one of those things...once you make the change over to Carlings you wonder WHY you never did it earlier!

So with the front grill - that is the question of the day isn't it. My target price is aiming to be $400 retail, and with the 10% "D-90" discount that would bring it to ~$360 for you folks here. Now, I say "target" price...currently working around a couple of things, one being the bump/roll forming for each grill (which is the curvature for the top of the grill) - that has proven to be a fairly pricey process, BUT the bottom line is the bump/roll forming feature is absolutely what makes the grill unique - and without this feature things just don't "work" (or look) nearly as well. Also, we are needing to deburr it all by hand - no "tumbling" here because of the size/shape of it. And with 417 octagonal holes, let me tell you that's a lot of holes and edges to be deburred .

If we can trim some time off the above processes during the larger production run, the "target" price should be able to be hit. I'd really like to do my best to stick with the above pricing especially to start, with the frank understanding that there will most likely be a retail price increase shortly down the road. But the goal is to get this grill into the hands of as many D-90 members as possible at the lesser pricing right off the bat....

It's worth taking note that this grill is 3/16" thick. It's this thickness that called for the bump/roll forming...this is NOT a flimsy piece of metal. My first couple of prototypes were 1/8" thick, and while that is stout...it just didn't have the look I was going for. By comparison, an aluminum NAS fuel tank skid is 1/8" thick - and that's something that is made to bounce off of rocks, logs, etc. The overall goal of this was to provide maximum protection for your Defender - on and off the road. Seeing that one of your most vulnerable components (the radiator) is housed right behind it, protection was the name of the game with the entire design of this grill. It's one-piece design will take whatever you can throw at it - literally.

The cast Land Rover Solihull badge will be available as an optional add-on for the grill for an additional ~$60 or so. This is a seriously stout cast-aluminum badge with powdercoat finish that uses the original pattern equipment used to make the original Rover badges (similar to the NAS badges).
