Very cool stuff. I love my wing top vents.

And I'll be looking for the bonnet hinges and 200TDI side vent. Both in black powder coat.

Let me know when they're both available.

This weekend, the plan is to roll/bump form the top section (3" or so) of the grill to exactly follow the curve of the grill surround / grill housing. Once that is done, will be re-test fitting to make sure everything fits like a glove - looking like should be right on schedule for early-March release! Should be able to get some pics up of the other parts over the weekend or early next week as well...
I was wondering how you were going to follow that curvature! Looks amazing

Yep, that's been the key all along was to "close" the gap at the top. The first attempt at the forming/bending came out pretty damn good. However, going to give it another try with a slightly different method to tighten up the top just a tiny bit more.

But here's the BEFORE with the unaltered flat grill:

And the AFTER the rolling/bump forming:

As you can see it makes a HUGE difference with the final fit & finish to have it match the curve exactly. A couple other gratuitous pics as well:

Lhd dash grab handle. Talk to me. About to order 3 of the plastic ones and would prefer aluminum. Mentioned it to customer and his response was "sounds like a must have"

DON'T order the plastic ones . The CAD is almost done, though admittedly the big "push" is to get the other low hanging fruit (projects) finished first. But I'd say I should have a working prototype done by the end of next week maybe? At least for test-fitting/etc.

I'm sure there will be some tweaks to the prototype which can chew up some time, but I can't see why it wouldn't be done and in production by next month (March)...though possibly sooner. I'll call/text you to discuss further and see your timeline needs.

Defrost Dash Vent Trim pieces came out pretty darn good...made a couple tweaks after test-fitting, but overall very pleased with the finished product:

I have to get gauges and the lower dash needs some finish work but I thought the center piece looks really good. I had some M5 button head Allen bolts that fit perfectly and IMO look really trick.

Jason - those defrost vent trim pieces look bitchin! Any idea when they are going to be available. And are you doing them in black or just raw/polished?

Thanks Don, and I agree. It drives me absolutely batty how the factory vents all "warp" over time. The ones in my NAS 90 are tweaked from age/sun enough to be an annoyance, and the ones in the 1988 127 literally have warped so bad they are totally twisted/humped. I'll try to post up a pic, but I think you all know what I'm talking about!

Should be done with the production run on the vent trim (ie all set to go) in March. They will be powdercoated black to match everything else...the "bare" parts are really just for prototyping so that adjustments can be made to them on the fly without needing to deal with a layer of powdercoat. The raw aluminum is too flashy for my taste !

Something is wrong with the seriesdefender.com web site... it's no longer reachable.

Chrome says it's a DNS problem.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes...my web hosting folks (cough, cough...Galpin ) had an issue come up today with their raid array or disc I believe for the hosting machine. I spoke to him earlier and they are swapping it out and *should* be back up and running shortly.

Sorry for any inconvenience - temporary technical difficulties only...
