If you're talking about the front bumper with the skid plate, he is doing them but not shipping them. They're too big. He did mention that he may ship bumper san brush guard with the skid plate, but he hadn't tried. I didn't ask about the price.

I don't think he really needs the money for onesy twosie bumper sales. IMHO
crapping on someone post - Advertisement is for Safari Guard/Rox type bumper by ECR - Post crap - "buy a a rockware" = busting someone balls or crapping on there post. The suggestion to buy another bumper from another vendor on a vendor's post could have been relayed in a PM to interested parties rather than crapping on a post.

Sorry, no interest in mail order sales of these anymore.
We can't keep enough in stock for our in shop work as it is.

The idea of getting hassled because our bumpers are too costly, or the fact that some DIY dude couldn't figure out how to put it on without a lot of hand holding does not appeal at all.
You can clearly see by posts from the faithful here how this would go.
That makes for ZERO interest, especially since we slip these on for happy customers all the time here at the shop.

Buy a Rockware. It is a nice bumper.

Mike,

Since you are not willing to do mail order any chance that SD will start letting other vendors sell them here in the US.

Kind of a bummer that the rest of the world can get them but here is the US (where they originated) we are unable to get them.

If they pay us back for all the development costs then yes.

I have no dog in this fight but its important to keep some perspective I think. Let's review the timeline......
- 3/27: ECR advertises their new bumper with "pricing SOON to follow"
- Numerous people show interest and ask relative questions regarding pricing and options.
- 6/17: After no response to any of the questions someone states that when they couldn't find a SG bumper they went with RockWare. Still a relevant post, IMO.
- 8/12: RockWare is again mentioned after no response from ECR. This time the RockWare mention is slightly snarky I would say, but not undeservedly so.
- 10/28: ECR finally responds stating there will be no mail order sales.

So I'm not sure you can really call it "crapping on someone's thread" when they don't reply for 7 months.

That's usually factored in to the wholesale price to retailers. You set the price to recoup your development cost over a period of time/sales.

No worries. The DIY mail order business is a huge effort and just not worth the tiny returns.

We have just been asked if we would ship to a shop, and in most cases I don't see an issue with us shipping a ROX bumper to a qualified shop for them to install.

I'm late for this one but I think ECR is right I love the bumper got mine in the UK and the BIG winch I wanted to fit didn't so make it work.
I'm sure if Mike makes something right it is right and fit for use (pulling Jeeps).
I've been waiting for my spot for to get on the floor of the shop and I'm sure it will be worth it.

What Land Rover shops and/or pro shops handle this?

I've had the Safari Gard and the Rock Ware, I much prefer the Rock Ware. This is a no-op to me.

I'm just wondering what kind of shops...obviously not dealerships?

My favorite local Land Rover shop is Will Tillery.
Can Will now take orders for ROX./Safari Gard bumpers?
He does impeccable Rover work...I think it's safe to say he could hang a bumper.
For that matter, Doug is another local Rover *shop* close to me.
Perhaps he can now take orders for Rox bumpers? Also a pretty good bet that Doug can handle a bumper job for a customer...

We have zero issues with Doug. He seems to do a ton for the Defender community.

A shop is a shop. Commercial address, etc., a guy with a shingle put out to work on trucks who can handle the install.

Yes, we just got a new batch of bumpers, so we have extras right now (something hasn't ever happened before).

Good to hear.

We are always running into new Defender owners here in Virginia at the different meets and some of them get interested after a rally to start equipping the truck...bumper and winch is usually the first consideration.

The ROX bumper would be a good option.

I have mine on and wired up BIG winch Warn 9.5 shoe horned in.
I got mine in the UK from SD, had the bumper modified to fit the winch, it has nice clean lines. Just been waiting for the rear step NAS style bumper from SD, so found an other style for now from Andy’s Spares Elite, NAS style.

Bumper has a hitch mount like a nas? Not the euro version? If so how much?
