Return of a popular bumper and other protection products

ECR is pleased to announce that products that we have been making for in house projects only, will soon be available for sale mail order to everyone, and at lower costs!
We have made arrangements that will help supply our version of the Safari Gard front bumper, rear quarter tub guards, tire carriers and more. In the past we have had to make these bumpers in house here at ECR (because we could not get them from the original supplier), and as it is clear (to us) that the original supplier is defunct, we have worked out an arrangement with Safety Devices to make these products. ECR will be selling the products in the US and we have already lined up a popular west coast (US) distributor so that no matter where you live you will be able to get product easily. Production by Safety Devices will allow us to reduce the costs considerably, and Safety Devices will be selling these products throughout Europe as well.
We are happy to bring these products back the open market and look forward to helping you with your bumper and protection needs.

Thanks!
ECR

*This is for Defender products only. At this time we are not venturing into any other Rover models
**We will only be making bolt on guard items. We will not be venturing into suspension items

We are using the first few in house now (image of them on the shelf here). Once we fit a couple more to double check fit and quality we'll have an eta. Hoping it won't be more than a few weeks.

No prices yet (still in development/ costing) but will hopefully be competitive with ARB and others.

Yes

-Front bumper/ winch mount/ brush bar with limb riser tabs and recovery points (as shown)
-A blade only front bumper with winch mount and recovery points (no brush bar at all)
-Front lower skid plate
-Spare tires carrier with Hi-Lift mount and rack for 2x cans
-Rear bumper/quarter panel guards

Bumpers will be set up for popular Warn winches (9000, 9500, etc) No other winch patterns will be offered at this time.

Basically we are doing the stuff we use in the shop all the time. If we can sell some mail order... great!

What about rock sliders?

Add those to the list and Santa's sleigh may make a stop in Maine on the way to Texas...

No sliders sorry.
There are some other mail order versions out there.

We have our own ROX sliders, but they can't be mail ordered as we have to modify the truck to be strong enough and that isn't a DIY thing like bumpers and such.

Nah, stuff from Safety Devices comes perfectly packed and wrapped and is already crated for shipping. Once development stuff is done we just open the crate, make sure everything is in there, close it up again and off it goes. No boxes to pack, no fuss. Same thing we do with the cages and racks we get from them now.

We will not be offering mail order sliders, sorry.

Prices will be posted to the ECR site as soon as development is 100% done.

Thanks

Will do on pricing.

Most of the restorations we do leave ECR with this bumper installed, so you can find many images from different angles and such on the ECR site. All the Beach Runners have them, etc.

I'm really glad to see you guys doing this.
Just as a suggestion (that I'm sure you thought of)... If you could re-engineer the mounting system to the body you would be doing everyone a big favor. The weight of the SG carrier +tire+ 2 fuel cans + a high lift is just too much for the body without reinforcement.

Additionally why not replace the bushings with heim joints?

Cheers!

The tire carrier's upper/inner pivot mount is welded to the roll cage. Its plenty strong. We may make that into a cage clamp so that there would be no welding involved, but we still need to look into that.

However if a SG tire carrier was installed without doing that step it would flex the body all to hell.

In the 15 plus years we have been in business we have only sold 4 or 5 of those, so no plans for a receiver style/hitch point at this time, sorry.
